I've heard that "Two-minute Tommy" was a big fan of Mike Myer's character Dieter and the Sprockets sketch on Saturday Night Live during the 1980's. Dieter was known for asking his guests, "Would you like to touch my monkey? Touch him! Touch my monkey!" It seems that Tommy attempted to utlize a hand puppet monkey as a pick-up technique and from the picture above enjoyed limited success.
