Tami Wenthold, an amazing outdoors woman, has lived with husband Randy ‘on the old Halloran homestead’ a couple miles north of St. Thomas, for about 19 years now. She’s a vet tech in Prior Lake and a member of the international organization ‘Becoming an Outdoors Woman’ (BOW). Tami’s been white water rafting in June, and since then has taken classes on climbing trees, ‘Lumber Jills’ and cutting wood, ‘Chics and Chainsaws’. Tami is also a superb horse woman who runs ‘Went North Bed and Corral’ on the edge of the Huntersville State Forest, where they have 150 miles of trails for horse riders. Spring and autumn are busy times of the year for her, when the weather is more comfortable and bugs are few. “It’s a nice place to stay, even if one isn’t a horse person, and an affordable vacation spot for families.” Check out her website “wentnorth.com”

Brittney Boelter, from Lake Itasca, attended the wedding of Shanna Wentzlaff and Aaron Thieke at Henderson on Saturday, October 14. Brittney is a dental hygienists in Black Duck and Bemiji. Brittney’s second cousin, Megan Burns, is teaching at an alternative school in Minneapolis, and attended the wedding with Jeff Boelter.

Barney and Jean Burns attended the wedding of Josh Tilley and Lyndsay Beaver at First Park Congregational Church in Grand Rapids, Wisconsin, on Saturday. Josh is the son of Dick and Mary Tilley of Le Sueur and Barney and Jean’s son, Pete Burns, was a groomsman.

Many attended the 90th Birthday Party for Dorothy Moore Halloran, at the Garden View Nursing Home in Le Sueur on Sunday, October 15, which was given by her son Gordy and his wife Jeanne, from Minneapolis. Special guests present were Dorothy’s grandchildren; Kathy Pascale from Edina, Tom and Lynn Halloran and their three daughters, Abbi, Ali and Annie, of Edina, Mike and Laura and their sons, Daniel and Mathew, from Eden Prairie, and Steve Halloran from Shoreview. Dorothy’s sister Colleen Dietz, from Mala Strana, Dr. and Mrs. Milton Mootz, and Father O’Hotto, the former priest from St. Anne’s, enjoyed the party as well. Dorothy, the daughter of Tom (1885-1976) and Katie (1891-1957) Moore, grew up on County Road 28, a couple miles east of St. Thomas, along with her siblings, Frances (Melchoir), Marietta (Sharkey), Colleen (Dietz), Merlin, Bob, and Leo Moore. She married Emmett Halloran in1938 here at the St. Thomas Church, the reception was at the Moore home, and their wedding dance was at the St. Thomas Hall. Emmett and Dorothy settled down to “living-happily-ever-after” on their farm, across the road from Dorothy folks, until a dynamite accident cut short their happy married life in November of 1941. Dorothy bought a home for her and her young son, Gordy in Le Sueur and got a job as receptionist for Dr. Milton Mootz, where she worked for 19 years. A gentle, soft-spoken woman, Dorothy looked a bit shy with the attention on her Sunday…although, there was nothing shy about her adoring gazes on her grandchildren and great-grandchildren …two and three generations from St. Thomas.

Congratulations to Lindsay Rybak, daughter of Tim and Lynn Rybak, on being chosen Student of the Week, in Volleyball last week. She’s Jean O’Connell Rybak’s granddaughter, which makes Lindsay…two generations from St. Thomas.

Happy Birthday, Randy! Randy Wenthold, Tammy’s hubby who will be turning 50 on October 30th.
