An "Avatar" is an image that can be placed under your screen name. It is visible when you post to the forum. You can select an Avatar when filling out the registration form or by editing your profile "my profile, "edit profile" after you have registered.
My Avatar is my photo listed under my screen name "Jeff Steinborn". It is listed with this post.
