Last night at the Annual Chamber Meeting, we received a questionnaire with the following question. Where was the Octopus Bar located? That's before my time but i do know the answer!

The Octopus Bar was a private gentlemen's bar located in the basement of my first home on North 5th street. It was a quiet place where my friends and I sipped root beer, listened to classical music, and discussed world events. Just ask Tex Tiegs, Danny Buck, or Mark "Rattler" Schaefer.

How did the discussion of world affairs lead to the demonstration of proper firearm use in the front yard?

Troy Koester, along with his wife Kari, have found ancient artifacts from the old Octopus Bar since they've purchased the Graham's former residence. Could be clues as to how productive those discussions went.

I remember hearing about that tape! I'll bet the museum would be interested in acquiring a copy!!! Perhaps the fire dept. could sell copies for a fundraiser?!!

You are correct sir. Some may have called it the Dead Feather. They didn't pack 'em in there or what? Hey Jodi I think my nephew Troy and his wife Kari currently live at the now defunct Octopus Bar. It's strange how back then bars were located on streets other than main. Hmmm.

Remember those eight tracks we listened to down there? Gene Tracy tapes were one of the classics.
