That place was a real happening place in it's day. I'm wondering if there are some interesting memories of the Drugstore by those who worked there, (must be dozens and dozens), or those who regularly visited. We all met our friends there after school, enjoyed the malts and the nickel cherry Cokes, and bought our school supplies there. Besides the Soda Fountain, it was also the Greyhound Bus Depot at one time. I think there was a Beaty Salon in there as well. Anyone?

Well, Nico, I would have to say that Harold Smith was a very interesting Henderson character. I remember having to call upstairs for Harold on that strange phone in the store whenever someone wanted their prescription filled. It didn't matter what time of day it was, Harold would tromp down the stairs to fill it. (Not always willingly, of course!) Not the sort of service we get anywhere else today. They fill it when they are good and ready!

Do you remember Harold's favorite chair that he used to nap in that sat in the back room? That was a scary looking thing!

I also remember on a slow day Harold would come out and say, "I think I'll go down to the river and see which way the water is running." or "See you around, like a donut!" As a teenager I was not amused and tried to ignore such comments, but Harold would always say, "Get it? .... Get it?" until I would respond.
