Does anyone buy meat from the trucks that stop in selling meat door to door? Today this white van rolls in and the first thing that goes through my mind is for being an older van, why doesn't it have license plates. Then I see the phone number on the side of the van is 3 area codes away. So now this stranger wants me to buy some meat from him and I am sure his beer cooler has kept that meat at the right temp all day. I declined, telling him I get mine fresh from town and it's the best around. (I think I just implied I like George's meat.) eek

I've got to come up with some snappy come back, such as:
No thanks, but I will give you five bucks for your hat.
No thanks, but I collect lug nuts and will give you a buck for one of yours.

Jennifer and I became vegetarians for a short time (between lunch and dinner yesterday). That worked pretty well. ;-)

Those meat guys are a scam; ever wonder why they just pull into your yard and not go door to door? Tey've been on the shady side of the law for awhile and the meat tastes like crap. They hooked Loni once when I wasn't home. I was home the next time one of em stopped so they got the riot act.

We had them stop last year about this time and the neighbor call the cops on them. They didn't have a permit to sell in town and were told to stay out. Pretty sure they got a ticket also. Must have been the same one's Norton had, there cooling system was not as it should be. Nice igloo cooler, with no ice!

No, Triple Crown Foods from Mankato is straight up; good bargains. Try the hot dogs.

I thought Norton was referring to them because in his profile it shows From: Charlies laugh

They stopped yesterday too....They must have figured it would be a hard sell to a guy who just got out of his vehicle scraping the pig and cattle doo doo off his shoes.

I tried to sell them some meat instead, but wasn't successful in my sales efforts.

Man, these guys really don't know what they're doing. They would have sold to most of the town had they bought their meat from Tesch! smile

Let me get this straight. So they wear hats that actually say "The Meat Guys"? Where do these people come from? It'd be funny to see the Schwan's guy and this guy cross paths. They'd be slingin' frozen meat at each other out in the street.
