Henderson, MN Forums Community Henderson Community Announcements & Events Street & Utility Improvements Project Update

This week the contractor will begin this week by moving in Traffic Control Signs, installing temporary erosion control items, and removing trees in preparation for the construction of some storm sewer and culverts. Tree removal operations, may block traffic on South St (Phase 1) at times. Next week (week of October 2nd), the contractor plans to mill the roadway on each phase slated for construction this fall. Once milled, they will lay the millings back down, roll, and pack so that it is similar to a gravel roadway.

Project Update:
Contractor to Televise Sanitary Sewer Monday (10/2). They will then reclaim the road surface on Tuesday (10/3). South St will then be closed beginning Wednesday (10/4) to put in a crossing culvert.

Hjerpe Contracting will be working on Minnesota St today (10/10) installing sanitary sewer and water main. All traffic is detoured to South St. A temporary access has been constructed for residents living on 7th St S to get around construction at the intersection of Minnesota and 7th St S.

Next week, the contractor will continue sanitary sewer installation along 8th St S and on Minnesota St (from 8th St S to 9th St S). It is also anticipated that the following week (10/23) the drilling sub-contractor will beginning drilling work on 9th St S (from just south of W Ridge Blvd to Minnesota St). The detour route will remain unchanged as traffic will be able to traverse around the drill rig machine while its working. Today (10/20) Hjerpe Contracting will be continuing to reconstruct sanitary sewer main on 8th St S. Next week, sanitary sewer work will continue on Minnesota St and 9th St S. Also next week, Watermain work will also take place on Minnesota St (from 7th St S to 8th St S) and will include a connection to the system where pressure in the mains will be decreased to ensure safe working conditions for the connection. Hjerpe Contracting is continuing to work on services along Minnesota St (between 8th St S and 9th St S) and 9th St S. Another crew is working on storm sewer followed by sub cutting and rebuilding the streets. This will continue into next week. See project update for more information.

Contractor will throttle down pressure today to make live connections to the water distribution system. Contractor to install storm sewer, sub cut, and re build 9th St (from W Ridge Rd to Minnesota St), Maple St. and Minnesota St. Contractor does not plan on working Thursday of Friday next week due to the Thanksgiving Holiday.
