Emily’s at it again! Front page news, Henderson Indepentent: LeSueur-Henderson senior Emily
Sullivan has been able to come into her own this season, as she continues to set new personal bests in her wheel chair shot put, and is aiming to get closer to set new personal bests and closer and closer to the state record. “Emily was born with spina bifida, that occurs when the spine and spinal cord don’t form properly and as a result the nerves in her legs just don’t work. She’s a great model for other children with disabilities. She’s a great person and loves the challenge. Emily’ s plans include Augustana College this fall, where she plans to double major in Special Education ASL. As her final weeks end and the meets come to an end, Emily is keeping her eye on that shot put record and return to the state tournament. She is a hard-worker at keeping her skills sharpened, has a positive attitude, proud of all of her accomplishments, and has great support from her family and St. Thomas folks, who’ve known her since birth. We wish Emily the very best and we have the confidence knowing she’ll help many...she already has.
Graduation season is coming up... Party time!
For the first time in years, this writer has been able to touch memory marks on doors, bookcases, see holy pictures that used to hang... in Grandma’s long-gone St. Thomas house. What a blast from the past!
