Mary Byrne Matejcek, one of our grandest Irish ladies who grew to adulthood in St. Thomas has joined her soulmate Tom on January 8th, her Mom and Dad, Dick and Celie and her siblings Alice, Lucille, Millie, Kay and Jimmy. A “Celtic Farewell” will be at a later date. Our sympathies to their family:
Anne and Rick, Nancy and Jack, Mary, Tom, Michael and Lisa, Catherine and Al, John and
Jolene. Tom and Mary have a dozen Grands and 9 Greats to carry on their legacy.

PRAYERS for Michael: Michael Phillips has had a kidney transplant on Thursday. It went well and his mother, Mary Elizabeth, thought he was coming home, but now he’s having a blood transfusion because his hemoglobin is so low. She is begging for prayers for Michael’s comfort, good health, and his life. His dad had a surgery the day before. Michael is on the Burns/Fogarty Branch of our St. Thomas Tree.

We thoroughly enjoyed the opening and The Charlie Sticha Band at the Toy Box in Killkenny Sunday afternoon. Lexi O’Connell, Jimmy’s princess was a waitress and will be for another week before she heads back of to the University of Wisconsin in Lacrosse. She’s going into Elementary Ed... Oh, those students are going to love her.

Roger and Eileen Meger Reak also enjoyed the celebration. They are proud grandparents of 4, now. Adam and Nicole just had their first baby on December 29th in New Prague. “Falyn Kayleen” was named after Grandma Kay and Grandma Eileen. Steve and Julie Tiede are the maternal grandparents. Sarah and Nick Johnson had baby number 3, Oliver Mack born on October 25th 2021, with Breck and Henrick present to welcome him home. New owner of the Toy Box is Steve Rutt...Yep. St. Thomas’s own...Gary and Shirley’s lad.

The Le Center Legion is having a steak fry on Saturday, January 22nd. St. Thomas folks who would like to attend can arrive between 6:00-7:00pm for social hour before supper. The menu includes steak, shrimp, salad bar and kid's meal.

The Sportsmen will be hosting Bowling Night at the 300 Club in Le Sueur on Saturday February 19th from 6pm-8pm. All members and their families are invited.
