Besides Barr - the linebackers stink so I'm thinking linebacker. Once that happens it's the Super Bowl homeboy.

Bnag nails it predicting CB in first round. I would like to see Eric Kendricks or maybe Benardrick McKinney with round 2. Wow, watch the draft or Wild?

The Purple hit Mankato this weekend and you know what that mean? Back to school shopping and summer is over? No – Heck no! Lots of summer left and as far as school supplies go, just use the leftovers from last year. That glue bottle from last year is at least ¾ full yet. It means keep your daughters away from Mankato and stay away from the fast food joints at night as Corvettes have been known to bounce off the drive thru pillars.

Lots of excitement abound as this might be the year, the year for that first Super Bowl win. (Most Packer fans will never know that feeling – ha ha.) The rookie class is looking good – Diggs at WR, Pruit at TE, and Kendricks at MLB. I have a feeling Kendricks might be the second coming of Jack Del Rio, but not quite in that class of Scott Studstill but the potential is there.

Mike Wallace at WR will be fun to watch – hopefully Teddy has a strong enough arm to get the ball to that speedster. Kalil will be back to form after two knee surgeries. AP will have something to prove and after a year on the shelf should be poised to break the rushing record.

This is going to be a fun year, especially after the Vikings whip the Packers twice. Be prepared for the Packer fans to get personal with remarks like “at least our running back doesn’t use a switch on his kids”. Just respond with two words – Mark Chmura. I can see the Packer fans crying in their Old Milwaukee already.

Wasn't Chmura sitting in his hot tub in his whitey tighties with his daughter's high school friends or something? Hoping he would get asked to prom I bet.

BIG tilt tonight - the Vikings put their undefeated preseason record on the line. Can't wait to see Heinicke light them up tonight. I bet he throws for 4 TD's. SKOL! Or 4 picks. OK - the backups play tonight - yawn.......

The preseason was fun - that Heinicke at QB was something. But time to move on to bigger and better things. Monday night football none the less (queue the music! - ba bump ba ba, ba da, ba da) If that ain't enough to send chills down Skeddy's spine. Time to see Teddy and AP at the same time, which would be more exciting if the O - line wasn't in shambles. Time to see if back ups and a rookie can cut the cake. At least they got some time together in the preseason.

Defensively, the Vikings will have to contain the Niners QB - old Colon Kappernick. I think if they can keep him in the pocket it should be an easy win. If Kappernick does his Steve Young versus Vikings impression - 50 yard rush for TD,running pass the likes of Millard, Jesse Solomon, Joey Browner twice, well then it might be a long night for the purple. Lets hope the Vikings coach, Don Zimmerman, has the defense ready to go. I was hoping to see Kendrick at middle linebacker but Geraldine Hodges gets the nod. Oh well.

Those looking to bet, this is an interesting matchup. Opening week is always tough so be careful. The opening line was Niners by 4 and now it has the Vikings favored by 2.5. That tells me a TON of dough has been placed on the Vikings to win the game, very interesting. We'll start with a 100 clams in the bank for betting purposes and we ain't paying no juice. We're going real conservative and putting the minimum 10 on the Vikings minus the 2.5. Weather predictions have it in the 60's and no rain - with that forecast in mind and the over under at 41.5, we have to go big here. We are putting $40 on the over - no way is this a 21-20 game. I see Vikings putting up at least 30 points and that would mean Kappernick only needs to put up a dozen, that's easy money.

Let's hope the first game doesn't go into OT else we might miss the first part of the Viking's game - the old opening day, MNF doubleheader. BA BUMP BA BA.....BA DA BA DA - Tonight on Monday night football it's Colon Kappernick and his Niners hosting Teddy Bridgewater and the Minnesota Vikings, live from San Francisco! Get the Brain Melt on ice! Get the popcorn ready! This should be fun. BTW - I have the Vikings winning 11 games.

Oh no, that was ugly Monday night. Yonkers. The O - line has a lot of work to do and AP looked like Jared McKinnon and McKinnon looked like AP. Kind of made me wonder why McKinnon didn't get more carries - 6.7 yards per carry average. Are you McKiddin'? - No. Teddy did OK - about as good one could with the protection like it was. And the defense didn't look like a Don Zimmer defense - the middle linebacker spot is not good. Still think Kendricks should get the start over Geraldine - but Zimmer knows defense. Right?

The bank roll took a big hit - never bet big first week. Weather for Sunday's tilt looks great so one should again expect a high scoring game - Megatron, neutrons, protons. Interestingly enough, the Vikings are favored by 2.5, so Vegas must think they aren't as bad as they looked. In true Vikings fashion, expect them to come through when most have given up. We're taking the Vikings to win and cover at 20 bucks and the over under is 43.5 - going with the over for 30 sawbucks.

I should think the bandwagon will be loading up after Sunday's tilt. SKOL!
