I wonder if the Vikings staff is asking these QB's of theirs to fake an injury to allow them to switch QB's week to week. This way they aren't to blame for making the changes themselves. You see the look on Pondler's face on the sidelines two nights ago? He looked disgusted by having to even be there. Know why? Because he knows the truth! His ribs were fine. Freeman was told to pretend to have a headache this week so the staff can play who they want. All based of course on the media and fan's reaction from the last game played. This reeks of conspiracy!! All we know though is it's not Bob Schnelker's fault.

Coach says the team battled throughout the game, and that's a positive. He also thought our defensive stand late in the game down 70 points was a positive, and also that our offense scored a garbage touchdown at the end and that was a positive and that indicated the team didn't quit. A couple questions - Isn't it likely that even bad teams will make a couple positive plays in a professional football game? And are these really "positives" when all you can reference as positives are a couple plays, and not an entire aspect of your team's performance? And who would you play at quarterback next week? Is it time to give Joe Webb a try? I'll log off and listen.

Whoever thought this linebacker corp was NFL starting material needs to be fired today. The defense can't get anyone off the field. Freeman looks like heck and the response is poor mechanics. What? A guy that's been in the NFL for a few years still needs to work on mechanics? That should be worked on closer to junior high than NFL time. Whoever thought that guy was worth a few million needs to be fired today also. I'm glad Pounder decided he needed to be more vocal in the huddle - that was a big help and some great self appraisal. Very smart guy.
Trade all the old guys that have value and then clean house. Fire Frazier today. Wait, problem is that if Frazier is fired who coaches? Singletary? He should be fired today if not yesterday. Peter Musgraves? The defensive coordinator? (Nobody knows his name because he doesn't want it out there.) I'm thinking Frazier looked long and hard for guys with lower football IQ's than his so he didn't look like biggest goof on the sideline. Fire Speilman today. Fire Everyone!

At this point, I think we all need to reassess just exactly what we, as fans, look to get out of watching the Vikings play football. It all boils down to entertainment. And we have to ask ourselves, "were we not entertained?" I was. Like rubber necking a car accident on a highway, our inner interests in the macabre take over.
As former stalwart Viking head coach Mike Tice once said, "ENJOY..the season."
side note on in season firings: I don't think anything will change til after the season is done. Zygmunt will be looking for new hires during the offseason, and any prospective candidates will be leery of job security if The Zyg is known for firing two coaches midseason one year after making playoff appearances (Childress, then Frazier).
*disclaimer: the above side note is what I think SHOULD happen, not what The Zygster WILL do. As we know with the Vikings, things can escalate quickly (Favre signing, Childress firing, Freeman signing)

Fire everyone. Fire the secretary. Fire the cheerleaders. Fire the groundskeeper at Winter Park. Fire that greasy, fat hairy toad that rides around on a fake Harley before the game. Fire the radio announcers - especially Gary Coleman. Nothing worse than a horrible sideline reporter for a horrible team.
"Now down to Greg" - "Wow, I have seen a lot of looks before but the looks on the faces really says something about this team. Blah Blah Blah." After this season there should be plenty of ex-Vikings to choose from for sideline reporters.
