My ancestors Michael and Catherine (Cavanagh) Grimes were the first people to settle in the Henderson Area. They came up the river on the Black Oak with Thomas Doheny in 1852. They debarked where Henderson now is and settled. I am a direct descendant of Thomas Doheny, through his daughter Catherine who married William Thomas Grimes on 07 March 1962 at the original St Thomas Church in Jessenland. William T. and Catherine and William's brother Edward moved to near Sleepy Eye in Brown County in 1968.
John Doheny and the Ravertys moved there at the same time.

Bill - do you have the Henderson History Book (we call it the "Blue Book")? You would probably find it very interesting.
