I was served a healthy plate of reminder this AM by those talking head sports experts on the Twin Cities most popular sports station. Sorta like this, when the offense stinks we always compain about the Offensive Coordinator, because our view through the chicken bones and past the beer bottles from the living room couch is better than that of the Guy that studied film all week and actually is paid tens of $$ to understand football.

Regardless, Musgrave is the topic, and I'd forgotten that #17 lined up in the backfield on that one touchdown, and that Felton Spencer Fullback Guy lined up wide on that 3rd down play he converted, and also that roll-out left TD pass Ponder to AP was also reasonably well designed. This is also a Guy that got the ball in the hands of that one guy 60+ times before his disappearance, and the guy to designed a running game featuring a 2,000 yard back. Seems like only when teams pass up and down the field the O Coordinator guy gets credit.

Well, I've taken pause to think, and my view from behind the pile of expired chicken wing bones and through the brown glass of a Schlitz returnable is of a job well done. And this from a guy that recognizes a kick a$$ offense when he sees one.

It would appear there have been a few more screen plays and draw plays as of late so I think Peter Musgraves is reading this thread. If Ponder had Peyton Manning like play action skills the receivers would be a little more open. It would really be interesting to see what a guy like Nort Turner would do with this offense.

In regards to the kicking offense: Where have you gone Bradley Childress? You don't hear his name thrown around for any coaching vacancies. WAIT A MINUTE - I just goobered Chilli and he is the offensive coordinator of the Clevland Browns. WAIT A MINUTE - I'm thinking that's former offense coordinator as the Browns head coach was one of the many that got fired. I'm thinking Chilli will be the next head coach at Philly.

Lions released WR Titus Young. Heard he's a head case but we sure could use some help out there. Wonder what Chris Walsh is up to.

I wonder what the odds are RIGHT NOW after Percy Harvin trade? Before the Greg Jennings signing. Before picking a receiver with the first pick. Before picking 2 wideouts in the 1st round. Before picking Tavon Austin and Keenan Allen.

Keenan Allen will be a bust though. Remember - never trust a man with two first names.

Relieved.

When it was first reported the Vikings were looking to deal him, I had visions of Bill Belichik and the Patriots fleecing the Vikes in a trade. Pats get Percy, Vikes get a 4th rounder and a bag of Funyons.

I saw Rick Spielman at the podium, trying to sell us fans on bag of Funyons.

"Bagof Funyons is a QUALITY football player. A TRUE BLUE CHIP player. Bagof Funyons has had success in this league, and we look forward to see what he CAN BRING TO THE TABLE with Christian Ponder. Once again, Bagof Funyons is a quality football player, a great FOOTBALL team mate, and a BLUE CHIP football FOOTBALL player."

"Percy, how long do you think it'll take you to settle in now that you've been traded to Seattle?"

"..... 'ere ..... (exhale) ... hey man, don't bogart that ... c'mon, pass it, man."
