This game has real question marks for me. This is a typical Vikings let down game, but if the purple prove that they are not your ordinary Vikes choke squad, then i may have to continue watching.

It's the old girlfriend analogy, she (vikes) are trying to get our interest. Should we (fans) go out for dinner and movie? Will she (vikes) break our hearts ('87, '98, '00, '09) again?

I'd run behind Axe any day. That guy's big!!

The Titans have given up an average of 34 or so points per game through the first quarter of the season. Look for the Vikings offense to score a touchdown this week. If Leslie Nielsen thinks the special teams is puttin' two scores on the board every week then we got trouble.

Although some fans think our offense stunk it up last week at Detroilet, I believe we used ball control to burn up the clock rather well. When you're up on a team 20-6 you're not gonna pass like you're two minute Tommy. It was Peterson left, Gebhardt right, Peterson up the middle, tight end dump to Rudolph, repeat. Clock management baby. Offense doesn't win championships, teams do. As in special teams and defense. This week maybe the offense will be the spark that ignites the flame.

Prediction for the week.....Vikes 31, Titans 17.

Expect the Vikings to struggle out of the gate, maybe allow Tennessee a couple first quarter first downs and maybe even have a slight edge in TOP (time of possession). Peterson and Harvin will each make QNTY 1 big play in the first quarter to set up scores, and despite our ability to move the ball effectively we will only be up 10-0 after a quarter. Expect the Vikings defense to improve in the second quarter, interception Hassleneck a pair of times, one for a score, and Peterson and Gebhardt to each rumble in for a score, but the Titans keep it close with a march down the field against the Tampa Two and kick a late first half field goal, 31-3 at halftime.

In the second half the Vikings defense finally comes to play, forcing two Chris Johnson fumbles (Harris recovers one), and Hasselneck asks himself out of the game when Guyion splats him too the turf. Meanwhile, the Vikings offense goes into 11-yards at a time mode to get first down after first down without getting too many extra yards so they wear down some clock. This is when Ponder hits Sampson for their first score of the season, from 15-yards out. Tennessee will mount a late charge to make it interesting again, but Joe Webb will run for two game-clinching fourth quarter touchdowns after Frazier pulls Ponder for the 15-yard pass that was designed for 11 yards.

In the end, desite an inconsistent effort, the Vikings hang on for a 59-13 count, and improve to 4-1.

Any other thoughts on the game?

Steiny - "Typical choke squad"?

Can a team that won 3 games last season and 9 over two seasons be in a position to choke after three wins? One might contend that teams that over-achieve are in no position to choke. Choke was the US golf team at the Ryder Cup last weekend, or President Obama on Wednesday night, although it was very difficult for the President since he had just landed in Denver a couple hours before the debate because he has a country to run. Romney had been partying in Denver for a couple days and had more time to adjust to the altitude.

Its not your aptitude, but your attitude ... that'll determine your altitude.

I agree it will be an interesting game this afternoon. Young teams will have their ups and downs but if they can make it to the post season - well - you know home boy.

Last week's win had the Bud Grant feel to it. Get ahead with special teams, bend don't break defense, and conservative offense that doesn't make any mistakes.

Does Bud still have an office at Winter Park?

Another big win with the defense looking like it might be something. The Redskins should be a good test for the D next week - well that's if RG3 is playing (he was concussed today).

Harrison Smith gets ejected for pushing an official and talk is he might be suspended. I agree with the suspension talk, officials shouldn't be pushing players 7 yards backwards. That was excessive.

Blair Walsh Project still going strong!

This is funny. Good take.

I predicted Vikings by 46 but the Titans came to play and kept it to just a 23-point victory. The Redskins are going to be tough.

My how expectations have gone through the roof on a team that had 3 wins last year. In talking with a co-worker this morning he still found something to complain about yesterday's game. It was our red zone offense and not being able to score touchdowns as often as he would like us to do. I had to explain to him that although the Titans are horrible, they're still a professional football football squad and believe it or not, will actually have a few successful plays during an entire football football contest. I repeated the final score (30-7) to him and that we just surpassed last year's win total and he walked away. Point proven.

Way to throw a purple kool-aid hook right-cross his face! And way to get to work after a big win! And we can all be relieved that Surprise-Faced Birthday Boy will continue watching! This is worthy of some exclamation points!!
