She only does that when you're knocking at the door.

Back to Vikings football. Stay focused Camel. Take your Uncle Skeddy's advice and don't eat so many sugar cubes.

Skol!

Man, I took a ride in a time machine yesterday and it freaked me out. See, I was watching a Vikings game from some years back and they kept throwing for four yards on third and eight, and wow, the offense proved incredibly unimaginative. and then the pass defense really stunk, and then they took a bunch of stupid penalities that really cost them. And the coach says "we gotta look at some tape and find out what we gotta do better and get back to work."

Well, coach, I can tell you what you have to do better - 1) get the ball downfield. 2) find a way to pressure a QB when the opposing team is missing FOUR (4) offensive lineman. 3) eliminate STUPID PENTALTIES!!!! 4) Force a turnover or two. 5) Score touchdowns and NOT FIELDGOALS! 6) Don't leave a linebacker to cover Reggie Wayne in the closing seconds of the first half.

Pretty sad when a head tackle football coach at the game's highest level has to watch some film to figure out what went wrong. Team stinks yet again, absolutely stinks, but we can find comfort in knowing that they are going to "watch some film and figure out what went wrong and spend the week working on those areas that we have to get better." Same S^!t as last year when they spent 16 weeks watching film and trying to get better in those areas. Maybe after you don't get better after 16 weeks you're A) doing the wrong work or B) working on the wrong things.

I am sick of Gardehoffer telling us how the Twins "battled their tails off, we got after it pretty good tonight ... these guys were into the ball game and we went after it pretty hard but their guy was cuttin' it and sinkin' it, he was tough out there tonight, but that's baseball and some nights that's how it goes."

And our football guy ... "we're going to have to look at some film and figure out those areas that we can improve and we'll get to work on those areas this week and give ourselves a chance to win a football game next week."

BARF.

Amen. If it wasn't for Harvin we wouldn't of even been in the ballgame yesterday. Imagine how inept the offense would be without him. Ugh.

Hopefully Frazier finds those things that he thinks they need to work on real quick cuz the Niners and Randy Moss are coming to town next week.

Skol!

Big weekend for the Vikings after their win and the Packers getting a beat down by the Seahawks. A bunch of people are crying about the last play in the Seahawks win but it's real simple, don't let the officials decide the game. The Packers had a horrible first half and deserved to lose, plain and simple.

Conversely, the 49ers get two challenges that they should have never got, in the Vikings game after calling their third timeout but the Vikings don't let it get to them and just win the game. Good teams find a way to win and the losers find a way to lose.

Looking ahead to Sunday, Stafford looks like he might miss the game so the Vikings might be up against the backup QB Shaun Hill. Yes, that Shaun Hill, former Viking.

Took in Sunday's affair with stunned, subdued appreciation. A professional football effort. It really mirrored a professional tackle football team, until Tommy Gehrardt fumbled three times in four carries near game's end. And only now I brace myself and clench my abs for that fateful and/or inevitable punch to the stomach, for my curiousity is peaked and my optimism swelled, although only slightly, with the hope that maybe, just maybe, last Sunday's professional tackle football effort was more trend than mirage, and maybe, just maybe, all that cool, calm collected talk about watching films and correcting for 16-weeks that progress might be at hand. But I will not force myself blue in the face holding my breaths, but rather go on with my mundane existence with that sliver of hope and optimism folded neatly in the corner of my skull. I will get it out only at kickoff, and even then I'll keep it in my pocket, for the landing at Disappointment is so much softer when the cabin is lined with purple pillows.

Big tilt Sunday at Ted Nugent's home town. Lions 1st string QB looks like he will start but the big D-lineman Williams is out so look for the Vikings to exploit that.

The big question is which Vikings team will show up. With such a young team there will be highs and lows. If the Vikings lose it will be a Free For All but I'm expecting a win which will give the Vikings a Stranglehold on the division.

Que the Nugent music! Dunt, dunt, duntdunt ta duntdunt.... Reminds me of riding with Murph Jr. in the Lincoln.

Let's go!! Team is 3-1, whether rightfully or not. I don't wanna have to go to Rube Chat to be able to have Vikings exchanges with unknowns sitting in their folks basement bouncing from one chat to the next making sure their point is heard. I wanna hear from you people, the people we've cheered with, cried with, been disappointed with, sweated with ... all those things we've done with the people we've done it with.

Couple questions heading into this weekend's contest worth watching - Are the Vikings capable of a letdown even after winning just three matches last season? The Titans on paper present little, and maybe the young Purple squad will be too busy ordering diamond earings with their playoff money and not have enough time to listen to "We Will Rock You" and "Eyes of the Tigers" before kickoff, true fire up songs.

That's Frazier's biggest challenge, keeping these young guys focused, 50 guys tugging the same rope. Harvin and Pondler need to continue to connect, Peterson needs to keep running hard on the left side behing the rookie tackle, Kahlow.
