I saw my first pre-season action. Watched four plays, one was the long TD pass from the two-named guy to some speedster. The Vikins uniforms are horrific. They need to go back to old school. This is a bad football team. If given an over-under of 5 1/2 wins I'd take the under. Was up until 3 a.m. watching the Gophers last night. 1-0 baby!!! UNLV - dead.

Wow you are a die hard Gophers fan. Did you get a Goldy ticket package this year? I think you get a free pom pom and a voucher for 6 free wings at BW-3 across the street from the stadium.

Yeah, it was pretty gripping stuff. The pronouncer said as the two teams ran on the field to start the game "Who wants it more? Kick off is next." Well, the Gophers wanted it more, that was evident. It was an intense game, both teams laying it all over the line and guarding each other real tight, I mean, you know, it was 13 to 13 after regular session. But it shouldn've even been THAT CLOSE!! because our quarterback missed some open runners that would've made it a bigger win than it was. But still, to win on the ROAD against another Division I opponent was really a good start, and Kill's first road win as the Gopher coach (of hundreds).
I had to skip season tickets because I have a whiddling class on Saturdays this fall. I'm gonna make a porch swing, but I'll be watching.

Wish I had a porch to put a porch swing on. Doesn't have to be a big porch. Like a short porch.
"Hit it over the short porch in right!" That's what Troy Koester did up at Hilltop Park this summer. He led the Legends in homers with one. It was awesome!!

Big tilt Sunday and AP is questionable for the game. Looks like the Jags are going to get a big dose of Toby. Gabbert at QB will be a good test for the Vikings secondary. (I wonder if he is related to Kenny?) Defensive battle with the Vikings pulling it out in a 6 - 3 final.
After that we will get to watch the Niners give the Pack a beat down in the late game. It looks like it will be a win win Sunday.

As predicted, Vikes win by 3. After a slow start by the offense Ponder finally came true to form with some nice throws. AP looks pretty good even if he isn't at 100%.
The defense needs some work as it had a hard time stopping the 3rd and longs. It will be a long season if the db's don't play better.
The big story of the game was Blair Walsh project. The kid hit some big kicks and the booming kickoffs are a special teams killer for the other team. Lots of bloggers, barbers, and Neil Young wannabees have made fun of the brain trust drafting a kicker. Who's laughing now?
He who laughs last thinks the slowest - Larry The Cable Guy.

Very exciting game! Offense has to pick up the pace when it counts, make one 1st down near the end of regulation and the jags wouldn't have a chance for a crazy 4th down TD pass.

More Purple in the Haus!!! More Purple in the Haus!!! I'm sold. Team resembles the 2009 team. Peterson and Harvin still on board. Great offensive line led by this Kalil. QB with great late game moxie (= Favre). Defense led by Robison and Allen crashing from the outside, linebackers flying all over the Haus, and the deepest secondary we've had in years.
Next week is bunker down game already. Then get ready for the 49ers!!

Blair Walsh project baby!! Ol' dinosaur leg quickly made us forget about Longwell eh. Look for the Vikes to have an easier time at Indy than we did against the Jags. Yeah yeah it's always tough on the road but this is a young team full of confidence right now. I'm predicting 2-0 goin' into week 3 versus the Niners and Randy "Straight Cash Homey" Moss. Final score, Vikes-28 Colts-17.
