Peterson quotes Winston Churchill after arrest - A lie gets half way around the world before the truth has a chance to put its pants on.
Pants on the ground, pants on the ground, looking like a fool with your pants on the ground........

Big tilt this Friday, I would even go so far as to say it's the biggest game of the year, so far. (That's far.) Lots of things to watch: 1. O-line 2. Blair watch (not Matt) 3. Secondary 4. Walsh watch (not Steve) 5. Offensive crispness The Blair Walsh era begins Friday. Get your number 3 jerseys now. (First the Killer now the Finisher) I expect he will smash every Fred Cox record the team has. This is huge, the start of a Hall of Fame career and it all starts Friday. (I don't know if I'll be able to sleep tonight.) SKOL VIKINGS!

Impressive game by the Vikings, the niners will probably be the Super Bowl representative from the NFC and the Vikings have a young team so don't worry about the score from yesterday. Give the Vikings a few games into the season and things will start meshing.
The real exciting thing from last night was watching kicker Blair Walsh. Since coming to the Vikings he has decreased his angle on his approach which has really helped him square up on the football. The kickoffs have been great which will be a big help come the regular season as the Vikings will probably be doing that 2 to 3 times a game. Lucky to get the kid in the 6th round as most draft boards had him a late 5.

Big game against the Bills and after the 2nd game of the preseason things are looking up. Toby looks like the real deal at running back, actually running over a defender. Ponder has some real bright flashes and when he didn't it was more of O-line problem, which will only get better once they play some more together. The starting MLB doesn't look sharp but the 3rd string guy, Audie Cole, looked great against the Bills' third string. Anytime you can get an Audie on your side, you have to go for it. He looks like a lock to make the team.
Finally, the Blair Walsh project at kicker looks excellent, some booming kickoffs. The extra points are very smooth. Wow - what a find.

Of the Vikings 13 losses in 2011, only four were by more than 7 points. The other nine were by a combined total of 44 points, or 4.8888888888 points per game. That's one play per game. So if they Vikings are able to make one more play per game in five games, they will win five more games to get to 8-8. And the law of averages suggests that they will make plays in more than those games, considering the equality of talent in the NFL (there are four really good teams, four really bad teams and the other 24 teams are equal). Well, the Vikings are in that middle bunch, and if the Murphy's Law thing takes affect expect the Vikings to improve by six to eight wins, finishing between 9 and 11 wins. I have little doubt that we will be starting a Playoff Thread in four months.

My barber sources are telling me the Vikings are 3 games give or take one game, better than last year so that look like at best a 7 win season.
The next couple preseason games will be a good indication of what direction the Vikings will be going this coming season. I like Camel's thought the Vikings are a playoff team after a 9 win season.

If that's the case there are many NFC squads that have to under achieve this season. Ponder needs to improve ten fold. All depends on how the O-line protects him. Will be nice to get Jerome Simpson after the 4 week prison sentence.
Skol!

Game day. I’ve been watching film on the Chargers, I think we can exploit their weak-side linebacker when they line-up in 52 Bravo if we can pull Sullivan to the 8-hole and get a good push to the outside. The key is a solid crack-back block by Berrian on the outside crashing down hard. Whatdya you think?

I think Joe Webb is done. The guy with two last names that played the 2nd half was more impressive. Almost led the Vikes to the game winning TD at the end too. Started from our 1yd line with 2 1/2 minutes left and got us deep into Houston land only to fall short on a 4th down. Gutty. Webb did nothing but scramble around again. Looked hopeless plus his body language said it all. Todman is fast!! Use him on 3rd downs like a Chester Taylor only quicker. Blair Walsh missed another kick though. Sage Rosenfels on a bed of rice pilaf was so so. Still should be the #2 guy behind Ponder. Thankfully preseason is over. A Houston fan fell three stories to his death while sliding down an escalator handrail. Alcohol was involved. Shocker. That's my story have a splendid holiday weekend Vikings fans!!!
