Big game Sunday - this could be the difference between a #5 and #3 pick. The O-line has been average, if not below, hopefully the QB of the future learns how to play this year to help with the Super Bowl run next year. The Vikings have some serious hope next year!

Did anybody see the story below? Old time Vikings tough.

Joe Kapp, the NFL’s original tough guy. He was a quarterback that instead of sliding or running out-of bounds would lower his head and run over linebackers and D-linemen, and if you played in the secondary, you didn’t want to try to tackle Joe Kapp, he’d hurt you. Joe was a man’s man. 40 for 60, baby!

His NFL career was short. Four years, 3 with the Vikings and one with the Boston Patriots. On September 28th, 1969 against the defending NFL champion Baltimore Colts, Kapp tied an NFL record with 7 TD passes joining the legendary Sid Luckman, George Blanda, Y.A. Tittle and Adrian Burk. Kapp was the last QB to throw 7 TD’s in a game, and that record still stands today. Prior to coming to the NFL, Kapp played 8 years in the Canadian Football League.

So there’s your abbreviated Joe Kapp history lesson. Now, what happened in Vancouver at a CFL Alumni dinner during Grey Cup weekend between Kapp and former D-lineman and WWF wrestler Angelo Mosca? Here’s what the Winnipeg Free Press reports:

VANCOUVER – There was some early unnecessary roughness at the Grey Cup weekend in Vancouver.

According to various reports, former B.C. Lions quarterback Joe Kapp and 74-year-old ex-Hamilton Ticats defensive lineman Angelo Mosca got into a physical altercation Friday afternoon at a CFL alumni luncheon.

The confrontation reportedly began after a highlight clip was shown from the 1963 Grey Cup, a game where Mosca drilled Lions running back Willie Fleming in what many considered a controversial late hit.

Fleming was forced from the game and Hamilton won the championship.

The altercation on Friday started after the clip when Kapp, 73, offered Mosca flowers as a symbolic peace offering. The sentiment was refused by Mosca and punches were reportedly thrown.

According to witnesses, Mosca used his walking cane to ward off Kapp’s punches.

Mosca’s post-football career included involvement in the World Wrestling Federation.

It's an amazing clip. If i'm not mistaken, you can hear Mosca tell Kapp to shove it up your a**!, as Kapp offered the flowers.

Classless move by both, but Mosca had it coming.

Hilarious. Mosca used to be a Pro Wrassler, so some people thought they were doing the old fake fight until Kapp landed the right hook that sent Mosca to the canvas.

The Vikings send 4 to the IR - 2 safeties (Husain Abdullah and T. Johnson), WR Jenkins, and the long snapper. For those that missed it, the long snapper got decleated on Sunday and it broke a bone in his back - 'like ouch man'.

This Sunday's game against Denver has a few interesting story lines. The Vikings safety play should be interesting with the recent additions of Page and Sendejo as I would expect an improvement in play. If the Vikings can throw another game they will stay in line for the #2 or #3 pick in April's draft which is real exciting for some.

The biggest question is how many times Tebow will gave praise to God after throwing a TD pass - that could be 5 to 6 times. I just think why stop there? I think after every good play the players should drop to one knee and give praise. Although the Muslim guys would have to figure out which way East is, which could be a challenge for some during the heat of the moment. It kind of makes one wonder if Allah is a big NFL fan too?

Allah actually played some Wing T in the Ottoman Football League (OFL) from 1335-1342. Football, or "football" as it was called in the Ottoman Empire, was a very popular sport from 1309 to 1387. Allah was signed as an undrafted free agent by Osman Gazi to play for Iznick Crusade starting in the 1336 season. He ran the Wing T offense and was believed to have introduced the "weave" as an offensive game plan.

Allah ran the weave for Iznick until 1340, and led the team to the OFL championship game in 1339, but they were defeated by a strong Keshan Knights team 52-38. Allah signed with Edirne after the 1340 season and retired in 1342 to spend more time with his family. He is fifth all-time in the OFL after averaging 36.4 yards per human skull kick.

I think Troy is in overdrive today! I guess that really isn't an uncommon standard for Troy...entertaining but is it true?! Was that found pounded on a rock somewhere in the Middle East?

The bit isn't entirely original. Conan O'Brien was interviewing Bob Dole in the mid 1990s. The Bob Dole was just a picture of Bob Dole, but the lips were super-imposed and moved when he answered the question. Dole was running for president v. Bill Clinton, and O'Brien asked "Bob Dole" if he was at a disadvantage because Clinton was an "athlete". "Bob Dole" responded something like ... "People seem to forget Bob Dole played some ball to ... Bob Dole played Wing T for the Aztecs back in 1422, and still holds the record for kicking a human skull 65 yards in a game versus the Incas." It was one of the funniest things I've ever seen.

Gotta give credit where credit is due.

Oh man that is some good stuff. I vaguely remember that particular show too. The superimposed lips bit, always an entertaining one.

Oh yeah Troy is lacking sleep these days with the newborn in the house so he may not be all together upstairs. Please bear with him. This week's "Slice of Life" should be a good one.

"Run with Dole"

Wasn't that voiced by Norm McDonald?
