You can't win 10 in a row until you win the first one and that is EXACTLY what the Vikings did this past Sunday. The Vikings are an early 2.5 underdog going into Sunday night's game against the reeling Bears who come of a humbling loss on MNF against the Lions. (R U read for some FOOTBALL!)

A lot has been made of McNugget's mechanics but the W this past Sunday speaks for itself. Lots of people point to McNugget's completion percentage but there was one dropped pass last week so don't let the stats get in the way of the truth. Plus - his car seems to run fine so I don't think his mechanic is that bad.

Bernard was in the dog house last week and it will be interesting if he is active Sunday. He is going back to Chi-town so thankfully the game is Sunday night so Bernard has time to recover from being out on the town all night Saturday night. (Chicago, Chicago - my kind of town!)

Game time temps look to be in the mid 50's with clear skies which indicates the stars are lining up for the second of 10 wins for the Vikings this year.

Despite being sacked a league record 17 times, Chicago Bears quarterback Kyle Orton led the Chicago Bears to 24 unanswered second half points as the Bears kept pace in the increasingly difficult NFC Central Division with a 31-20 victory over the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday night football. The Vikings, 1-5, are now five games behind the division leading Green Bay Packers and Detroit Lions.

The Vikings 12 first half sacks, three interceptions and two fumble recoveries stoked them to a 20-7 halftime lead, spirited by quarterback Donovan McNabb, who threw a touchdown pass to Percy Harvin shortly before halftime to give the Vikings a 20-7 advantage. It was one of four first half completions for McNabb on 13 attempts. He also ran three times for eight yards. Adrian Peterson gained 81 yards on 14 carries and scored the game's opening touchdown on an 8-yard scamper. Peterson finished with 103 yards, his second straight 100 yard effort, after gaining 22 yards on 10 carries in the second half.

Minnesota left points on the field in the first half, three times driving inside the Bears 10 and coming away with but six points. Twice McNabb threw incompletions on third down after the team was victimized by multiple false start and illegal procedure penalties. They were also stopped on fourth-and-one after faking a tight end reverse and handing to fullback Jim Kleinsasser who ran straight ahead into the backs of his offensive line. Adrian Peterson lined up as the tight end on the play and acted as a decoy on the reverse. "We thought we could fool them there," said Vikings coach Leslie Frazier after the game.

The Vikings went 1-of-8 on third down attemps in the second half, compared to 9 of 11 for the Bears.

At least all three phases of the game were equally horS@sh!t last night. Glad we were ready to play against a division "rival" on national television. That falls on the coaches. Granted its the players that can't throw a ball from hither to yon, catch the ball that hits you square in the breast plate, can't pressure a QB that was sacked 14 times last week, bla bla bla.

The only thing we learned for sure last night was the Pondler is a Viking and has been studying his Viking playbook, evident by twice throwing fourth-down passes for two yards less than required for the first down.

Gophers welcome Nebraska this weekend. Vikings welcome Green Bay. What is the bigger mismatch? Which would be the bigger miracle for one to win? At least we don't proclaim ourselves the "State of Football" like we do hockey, because the "State of Football's" two teams might get outscored 90-20 this weekend - at home.

Well, the only thing left to be determined is how many years will it be before Pondler brings us our first world championship. Kid was spot on. He has quick Fran Tarkenton feet, courage like Tommy Kramer and an arm like Jeff George. Really, if I were to draw up a quarterback and select attributes from all the other Vikings quarterbacks, I would pick those three attributes from those three guys, so it looks like we made a jackpot on this one.

Gonna be interesting in Carolina, though. I am usually pretty dead on with these predictions because I've seen a lot of games, and I would typically like to wait until later in the week after I've seen some film and read the paper to see who is in jail and who is out of jail, but I've gotta make a pick. I say that Ponder throws 6 TDs Sunday at Carolina and Peterson runs for two. My fear is that Cam Norton throws for four TDs and rushes for another four. But, I think the Vikings win 65-61.

Book it. We are living great days.

Camel - spot on as usual. The Vikings sure put a SCARE into the Packers. I'm thinking the game at Lamblow will be a loss for the Packers. No longer will the Vikes get pick number 1, thanks to Pounder it looks like the Vikes will be .500 or better the remainder of the season. One franchise receiver away from the Super Bowl - home boy! Look for wide receiver to be the #1 pick for the Vikes come April. Also, look for Skeddy on ESPN when that pick happens.

...and the silence you hear, is Lambeau Field. Why don't we just sign Terrell Owens? He invited all the teams to watch him work out but nobody showed.

He put his workout on youtube. In today's economy many teams opted to stay home and watch the youtube video. You can watch it, too. I also put a video of myself working out on youtube and am hoping it will garner some attention. Due to long stretches of inactivity I feel like there are a lot of miles left on these legs. Looking for a Cross Country scholarship.

No Need to sign dying talent like cough cough McNabb. His stats, have been lowering since 2000, especially after leaving the cowboys. Let's get some fresh rookies.
