"Ok, let's go to the phones. We've got Skeddy from Henderson. Skeddy." (dead air) "Skeddy, you there?" "Oh, yeah, sorry. Had to stop the VCR." "Is that a real name? Skeddy? What does that mean?" "I don't know, my brother called me that." "Ok, whatdya wanna talk about." "Yeah, ah, I taped the first two games and have watched them a couple times, and, ah, is it just me or are the referees totally against the Vikings? Stupid refs. Seems to happen every year, you'd think they'd get some refs that aren't against the Vikings. I'll hang up and listen."
Hey I want the unedited version dammit!! If you have to go back and delete stuff then it isn't from the heart. Are you a pretender or a contender Camel? Go Sphynx!
Ok. I thought the McNabbsandwich signing was a good thing, but I might be wrong. Granted, much is wrong when you've been outscored 67-6 or whatever in three second halfs/OT this season. But I agree with many that the most telling statistic in these second half collapses is 1-of-15. One of 15 on third down conversions in the second half this season. This opinion is that much of that is on the QB, who would not win a "Tesla" mirror at the county fair by breaking balloons or knocking the milk jugs off a washtub from 15 feet.
Great call by Camel - Vikings cover and the game goes over. The Vikings are becoming a favorite for the betting public.
Something has to give this coming weekend as both teams have a perfect record. Hard to say a game is a must, but that's what this game is with the Chefs. Loser will be well on their way to getting the #1 pick in next year's draft. Vikings are a 1 point favorite and O/U is 39.5. Hard to bet against the Vikings after their record this year and take the under.
OK - time to take a realistic view, at 0-4 if the Vikings win 80% of their remaining games they might, MIGHT be a wildcard but even at that they don't stand a chance in the playoffs with the current starters.
It's time to start Pounder (BENCH McNUGGET!) to see what they got, because if Pounder sucks (Akili Smith, Ryan Leaf, and Andre Ware come to mind.) they will need to draft another QB in the upcoming draft. (Andrew Luck?)
The other benefit to starting Pounder & assuming he can do the job, is to get him some experience. Potentially, the team could be OK next year if Pounder is serviceable and they draft defense. Defensive players can come in and make an immediate impact.
WITH THE #1 PICK IN THE 2012 NFL DRAFT THE MINNESOTA VIKINGS SELECT................(I stole that from Greg G.)
Could be the first blackout in a long time this Sunday vs. the Cards. Wow am I lucky too. Before the season started a small group and myself got tickets to this Sunday's game. Usually like to catch one a year is all. I don't know what I'd do if I wasn't able to see this game. Truly an epic matchup. I'm thinking about making one of those sad faced brown grocery bag getups in case were on the verge of going 0-5 and it's the 4th quarter.
Does anyone else think Leslie Frazier attended the Brad Childress school of postgame interviewing? How bland can a guy get??? "We need to see the film and try and correct the things that need correcting. Also, the things that we are doing okay at we need to find a way to improve those so that they're better than before." He's also "excited" to be coming home to our fans. Sorry to say Les but there just might be a chorus of "boo's" rained down upon this team come Sunday. I don't boo though. I protest in silence.
Once again it was tough going for Adrian Peterson as the previously winless Chiefs outlasted the Vikings 22-17 on Sunday. Here Adrian tries to get to the outside only to be swarmed under.
All I know is I want "Coach" Brewster doing the sideline reporting for every Viking game from here on out.
"Are they gonna come out HUNGRY?? Or are they gonna come out STARVIN??"
He should ask that question to some of the players during sideline interviews. I'd like to see their reactions to Basement Brew's motivational questions.
Brew: "Adrian....it's the start of the 2nd half. ARE YOU GETTING YOUR CHILI HOT!?"
Peterson: .....?....
Brew: "IF YOU'RE GONNA GET SOME....YOU GOTTA BRING SOME! ARE YOU GONNA BRING SOME ADRIAN?!"
Vikings avoid the black out. It does look like tickets are available. TICKETS STILL AVAILABLE
Big tilt this Sunday and the games don't get anymore do or die as most people see it as a must win for the Vikings to reach the playoffs. Vegas has the Vikings as a 2.5 - 3 point favorite which has many on the cold, northern tundra scratching their heads. (It might be the fur hats.)
Arizona made the big trade in the off-season getting Kolb from the Eagles and his play hasn't been up to expectations to say the least. If Kolb doesn't get the job down look for the Cards to pull the Skelton out of the closet and if that doesn't work they can always look to the Hall instead of the closet. (John Skelton & Max Hall [Daryl's brother]...)
Larry Fitzgerald comes home and most expect him to have a big day. Look for the Vikings safeties to be in trail mode most of the games. (What's Joey Browner doing?)
The big thing to watch for is side line reporter Drea Avent, who could be the next Jayne Kennedy. Personally, I liked Tim Brewster's insight last week and it will be hard to top Timmy's hard hitting reporting.
