The roar will be muffled this week. McNabbsandwich and Company are bursting at the seams, and this week we will really know the offense. The result will be a scrambling Lions defense. An early lead will allow the Vikings defense to apply continous pressure on the Lions QB Matthew Sanford, and 70,000+ in Mall of America Field will make it difficult for the QB to check down at the line. Look for another one-sided affair, Vikings 45, Lions 12.

I agree with bet the Vikings at -3.5 and take the over - good call.
The Vikings will need some breaks to win the game. It seems the second half of the last two games the Viking's opponents have caught ever pass and some drops would go a long way in helping the Vikings secure their first victory of the year.
If the Vikings do lose it might be Pounder time the rest of the season!

Why can't we counter adjust to our opponents halftime adjustments? Lack of coaching experience? Also, I get so sick of the mundane typical postgame quotes like "we busted our tails but just gonna have to shore up some things next week." Blah blah effin blah. Yeah I know they're professionals but does that mean you have to remove all emotion from the process too? Maybe clipboards are being busted off chalkboards in the locker room and we just don't see or hear about it. Sure would be refreshing though. NFL=No Fun League. Go Wild.

Best part about the Vikings "busting our tails off" speech after the game is that we'll only have to hear it 16 times. The Twins have "really been battling out there ... really getting after it ... gonna get our work in tomorrow ... bustin' our tails off ...really into the ballgame tonight" for 162 games. Last night they managed to load the bases with none out vs. the Mariners down 6-5 bottom of nine ... AND FAILED TO SCORE.
94 and counting ... 100 or BUST!

Typical, talking the wrong sport in the right thread. What's next, talking about the Sphynx big playoff push in Viking's talk?

Does anybody have a good apple crisp recipe?
Oops, sorry. Wrong thread. Do you think the Vikings will tighten up their splits on third down for better gap protection? Sure seems opposing defenses have been able to gain pentration through the B-gap, and combine that with cheating of the safeties because of our lack of a Z receiver, it eliminates any cutback lanes for AP after he gets to the second level.
Also, on defense, when we're playing Cover 2 we need to line that weak side guy up a little bit deeper, maybe at 7 to 9 yards, so he has a better angle to protect the left hash. And everyone knows it's paramount for any successful football football team to be able to guard the line. Everything starts with guarding the line.

"Let's go to Skeddy, from Henderson. Skeddy you're on the air." "Ahhh, yeah, first time caller, I was wonder ..." "Skeddy, can you turn your radio down?" "Huh?" "Turn your radio down." "Oh ... ok ... sorry, first time caller. I'm wondering what the Vikings will do with Bryan McKinnie now that they released him? And, ahh ... do you think they'd ever consider Randy Moss again to the help stretch the field? He was really good in '98 and I think he has something left in the tank and something to prove, and this is like his home, man, we have the best fans. I still have his jersey. Yeah ... Ok ... ahh ... I'll hang up and listen.
