Yes. She supposedly went to school or lived in Henderson. She died due to complications following treatment for her "illness". The police report looked legit and the articles from the papers too.

I actually know a little bit about this. As crazy as it sounds. This is also my 10th post so I am somewhat excited to see the results once I do post it.
I will help with some of those links, because I am now intrigued, I don'w know about Emily living in Henderson. While I am sure there is an Emily in Henderson, I do not know if Emily Rose the posessed is the one.

It took me a bit of time but I found the site you were talking about: http://www.sonypictures.com/movies/exorcismofemilyrose/site/ Very interesting. It does name Henderson MN as the place this event took place. You have to click on about emily and then on this is her story, click on each newspaper article to read. It says the small town of Henderson south of St Paul is where Emily was from. I've got a feeling Henderson will have many more inquiries about this after the movie comes out in Sept.

My interpretation of this is that the movie is based on a true story that actually happened in Germany. But then...there's Vampire Valley.....

After a little research I found the young womans real name was Anneliese Michel from Germany and this happened in the mid-seventies. You should still check out the website listed in the previous post. Kind of interesting

So... big hollywood hears about an exorcism somewhere in Germany, decides to write a "true story" based at the U of M about a "girl from Henderson". I wish it were true, oh yes I do, but I'm too upset about the website calling us a subdivision. Why didn't they film it in Henderson or at least visit? Mabye they took a photograph of our main street and reconstructed it in an LA sound stage! Now we're gonna have a crazy blitz of sightseers coming to our town just like they did wherever the Blair Witch was supposed to have happened. Oh well, as long as they give money to our fine local establishments I'll be happy.

actually the whole story is made up. It was just all made up for a movie.. i was the one who asked the question eariler about the movie because i thought it was real i know that it is really convincing but it say yes that it is based on a true story .. but the truth about that story is that the girl it is based on lived in Germany and it has nothing what so ever to do with henderson or minnesota
