Hi,
I have some old postcards (from around 1910 or so) that came from Henderson. Apparently one of my great-grandmothers, Carrie Briegel, was born and raised in Henderson. I'd be happy to get some scanned images onto the web and post the links if anyone is interested.

Sam, that would be great. It is always interesting to see the different old views of the town. Maybe you have some unusual ones! Please post the link when you get them scanned. Thanks!

I collect Henderson postcards. If you'd be willing to part with them, I'd love to see what you have. Otherwise, it would be great to just see them on the site.

Does anybody have or know anybody that has any good pictures of the old stage gym at the high school?

I am one old enough to remember the days BP: Before Paving on Main Street. This time of year--frost-out--was especially messy. On that note: When the ice started to move in the river it required a daily (or more) walk down to the bridge to see how it was faring. The old bridge, I suspect, had a greater propensity for hanging up the ice around the piers. The force of the river is never more evident than at ice-out time. I hope someone is collecting the Postcards as they will at some point in time make a wonderful book. The "talking points" accompanying the cards would make a great Henderson documentary.
