2nd Annual Sidewalk Chalk Art display for Sauerkraut Days!
St. Paul's UCC is looking for an artist to reproduce, in sidewalk chalks, DaVinci's The Last Supper complete with cans of Frank's Sauerkraut on the table. We do have permission from Frank's Sauerkraut to reproduce their copyrighted label.
St. Paul's United Church of Christ will pay the chosen artist $200 upon completion of the project and buy lunch for the artist. The artist must start by 8:00 am (but may start earlier) and finish by 12:00pm on that Saturday, June 25th. The festival will be in full swing so there will be many spectators wandering by to see the artist in action. Watching the artist work is part of the spectacle.
The slab of concrete is pretty smooth and there will be around 10' x 20' of available space, under a shelter. The artist will be expected to supply their own chalks so they have what they require to work with.
Artists are asked to submit a sketch by June 6th and the winner will be notified on June 7th. Submissions should include the artists name, contact information (incuding phone and/or email), estimated duration of time for the proposed artwork, and a brief explanation of why you're interested in the project and anything else relevant.
