After talking with Arlene Busse about the History book, have found out that the Tourist Club is investing a third printing of the book. The next step is to check to see if the Crow River Printing equipment can still read the negatives.
They are thinking of about 300 books at the selling price of $40 for the existing books. If an updating chapter would be added it would probably affect the price.
Some one would be needed to do the updating chapter...
Will keep you posted.

After more thought, i think a new chapter wouldn't be needed. A new chapter would stand well on it's own. Something like "Henderson, MN... a 21st century rebirth". Besides a new chapter would take some time to put together. It would be great if the reprints could be ready for what i see as Henderson's biggest tourism season ever! Also, if affordable i think a minimum of 500 should be printed. Just my 2 cents.

These comments are from one quite removed from the day-to-day scene in Henderson but one who nevertheless stays interested. I endorse the idea to do another printing of "The Big Blue Book," and would strongly urge a new chapter be added; even if it adds to the cost. The current restoration project in itself is exciting news. Properly done, it would induce owners of the original book to want to also purchase the revised edition--that alone expanding demand. I would be happy to be of assistance in any way I can in contributing to this project. Good luck.

The Henderson Ladies Tourist Club has decided to do a reprint of the Henderson Then & Now, with corrections and a four page forward. 1000 copies will be printed and will sell for $40, (same price as the second printing) + $5.00 for shipping. The goal is to have them available for sale by the end of June.

Details on Preorders will be available shortly.

Any work on updated information from the early 1990's to the present will be left to another group.

A third printing of the "Henderson, Then and Now" is being printed and will be for sale once again, thanks to the Ladies Tourist Club, General Federation of Women's Clubs. They probably will be ready before Sauerkraut Days and will sell once again for $40 and if it is necessary to send them $5 will be needed to go for postage and handling.

So be prepared to save yourself $5 and buy the "Henderson, Then and Now during Sauerkraut Days the end of June, 24th-26th.

Doris Wigand 507 248-3500 and Judy Loewe 248-3345 are taking orders now but the cost remains the same.
