If anyone has an interest or is just plain ol' bored the "Henderson Locals" will be doing battle this Saturday in Shakopee vs. the New Hope Bandits at 1pm in the Over 35 State Amateur Baseball Tournament. Troy Koester, Tom Hoen, and myself, along with about 10 other old tymers from neighboring towns, will attempt a shot at the title without playing a game as an official team. If you're still hankerin' for some town ball but don't wanna drive all the way to Bird Island or Willmar head to Shakopee Saturday. Games will continue on Sunday as well as the last weekend in August. Hope to see you there!

The squad is playing under the moniker "Henderson's Octopus Bar." This decision was made at a Board meeting on Saturday after a vote that the Octopus Bar shirts were cooler than the "Local Team" shirts.
Shirts and hats are being supplied by Evolution Shirts, Henderson, MN at the expense of the Octopus Bar reps.

A victory Saturday for the Octopus means we'd play Sunday at 2pm in Veseli. A loss tomorrow puts us at the 12pm game Sunday, also in Veseli. Check back for updates and we hope to see some fans in the stands!! Fear the Octopus!

Take 19 east through New Prague. Look for Veseli sign and turn right. Ballfield on your left just before town. Might be a spotted cow or two on your way.

The #15 seed Octopus Bar defeats the #2 seed New Hope Bandits today in Shakopee to the tune of a 15-0 score. The game was called after the 6th inning due to the 10 run rule. The Octopus moves on to play Sunday at NOON in Veseli against the Urbank Goldtimers.
On a side note. Since our team was formed in about a week, and not having played a game all summer, the Over 35 Board ruled that the Octopus gets bumped to the C bracket while New Hope moves on to B. This goes back three weeks or so when the head of the board asked if we were interested in getting a team together to fill in for a team that couldn't make the tourney. With the Octopus joining, all teams are guaranteed four games. All things said, if we win tomorrow and win two next weekend, the Octopus Bar becomes Class C Over-35 State Champions!
Swing on over to Veseli tomorrow at noon and root on the Octopus Bar!!!

The Octopus Bar beat the heat and the Urbank Goldtimers today 10 to 3 in Veseli. We have now outscored our two opponents 25 to 3 in two games. Let's see what next weekend brings. We do know that we play next Saturday, Aug. 28th at 3pm in Union Hill. Opponent will either be the Shoreview Hawks or the Minneapolis Bombers.
Take the short trip over to the Hill next Saturday. A real picturesque ballpark they have there. I believe the Townball Tavern at Target Field has a couple photos from Union Hill's park hanging on their walls.
