OH LITO - Oh oh oooo oooo ooo. (you got to love Boz Skaggs - Ricky's brother.)
Vikes sign Lito Shepard, CB. Now what we going to do tonight during the draft? I say we draft a skill position player - a position that hasn't been picked over. For example - if only one or two WR have been drafted when we get our shot - I could see us plucking a WR.
Can't wait until they play the replay of draft day when we drafted Kevin Williams because we didn't get our pick in on time - thus the scrum at the podium. Makes me wonder what Denny Green is doing now. Probably plowing - both hands on the plow looking straight ahead. Either that or reading the NY Times.

Anybody hear Chris Berman say "boy, I don't know if the Vikings should draft a quarterback because they don't want to make Brett Favre mad" or something to that affect. That might've been the worst case of commentary I've heard. Like Favre is worried that some pimple-popper would take his spot. Also heard yesterday on some local sports radio talk show station that Favre is not recovering very well physically from the beating he took in New Orleans last year. Wonder if the Vikes opening game at New Orleans will factor into his decision if/when to come back. Wouldn't be surprised if he says "yeah, I'll be back, but not for week 1. I'm not going through that again."
The Vikes have positioned themselves to draft their QB of the future in Notre Dame standout Jimmy Faucet in the second round. Genius.

I heard them talking, if that is what you want to call it. They had no clue what they were saying, just a bunch of babble like you would come to expect from ESPN!

I wonder how the draft parties worked out? Maybe explains why they didn't hold it at Splinter Park.
Jimmy, the second coming of Joe Montana - he went to ND too, ya know.
One thing to say about Jimmy - he might not have "all" the tools of a great QB, but he is a winner. You can't argue with his winning record that last four years.

Decker from Cold Springs (U of M) goes to Denver. Triplett from Delano goes to the Vikes. Interesting to see the "smaller" Minnesota high schools represented in the NFL.

Check out the ESPN article on Favre. Sage Rosenfels on a bed of rice pilaf better warm up the ol' six shooter. Damn!
