The next Eucharistic Celebration at St. Thomas is February 27 at 5 pm.

Save the date: Pot Luck supper at St. Thomas April 3rd after mass.

Services for Ray Lang were held Thursday in Le Center. In partnership with his brother Gilbert, the Lang's Tire Shop is familiar to folks in our community, known for their good and fast work, done cheap. Ray was the driving force behind their tire shop, Gilbert stated that Ray “would put in many 13 and 14 hours days, working in the garage.” The Lang boys are also known for their brotherly harmony in classic country songs, when they sang karaoke. Our sympathies to Gilbert.

A few from here are taking winter breaks. Dick O'Connell is home from his annual trip to visit Ron Regan and Ronnie Callahan in Fort Meyers, Florida. The Barney and Jean Burns clan spent a fun weekend skiing in Virginia, Minnesota. Chuck Retka joined a group of fellows and toured south. They enjoyed the National Farm Machinery Show in Louisville, Kentucky recently... viewed machinery, took in a tractor pull...guy stuff.
Bob and Joannie Hartman and Father Roger Hessian were Sunday evening supper guests of Roger and Gloria Graham on Sunday at their winter home in Venice, Florida. Father stayed the night, had lunch at Sharkeys on the pier and toured Venice on Monday before returning to Naples...Florida. Sure miss him at the Eyeball.

Bruce and Cathy Halloran, Dick O'Connell and Jim Connelly were among those who enjoyed the FFA Sausage and Pancake Breakfast in Belle Plaine on Sunday.

Emily O'Connell, Doc and Rita's baby, is a candidate for the 2010 St. Patrick's Day celebration in Le Center. “O'C” is a dark-eyed darlin', who hails from the Brown, Callahan, and O'Connell Irish family branches in St. Thomas. A senior at Le Sueur Henderson High School, Emily loves growing up in the heart of St. Thomas....and St. Thomas loves Emily growing up here.

Greg O'Connell(1945-1995) is one of the original organizers for the celebration in Le Center. Figure this one out... Emily and Greg are first double cousins, twice removed.

Madelyn Wolff is reportedly doing well after surgery on her hands at ISJ in Mankato on Monday, February 22. Her nurse was Denis and Gloria's daughter, the one and only Teri Simonette.

Jack and Vangie Burns took the opportunity to visit John and Jean Callahan recently at their Cedar Lake Home.

Ran into Mary Doherty Halverson, George and Mildred's, at a funeral not long ago. She works in the office of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Arlington. She and her husband, Darnell, have five grown children, all doing well...She hasn't changed a day since graduation...forty years ago.

About thirty to thirty-five St. Thomas partiers showed up at the 300 Club in Le Sueur on Saturday, February 20th had a grand time. High score of the 20 that bowled are Davie Connelly 190, “Wingnut”183, Todd Sullivan 147, Jim Sullivan 145, and Dick O'Connell 141. Ladies and kiddos included, everybody was having too much fun to be competing very hard. Emily Sullivan, with a little help, bowled from her wheelchair. The youngest attending was little two-month-old Caleb Sullivan, the oldest...a toss up.

Congratulations to Masopust King Ben Vlasak, Montgomery's newest ambassador, who received his title, duties and costume at the Masopust festivities on Valentines Day. This charming, blue-eyed lad has sisters, Holly and Sarah, who are former Kolacky Day royalty. All three are Richard and Liz's, and the grandchildren of Al and Rita Moore Vlasak who hail from the Moore branch...just two generation from St. Thomas.

Mr. Mamer, you must know little Bobby, too. Ain't he a character?

Happy Birthday, Marc...and a happy one it was... St. Thomas celebrated at the Eyeball.
Marc Tye was born February 24th, 1982.

One can confide in a sibling. They are loyal, always on your side... of any stand, no-matter-what. My sister, Dee Palmstein, gave up talking and thinking negatively for lent... Al, ole boy, you're off the hook til Easter. Have a great week, folks.

Holy Johnny Cash - one of the Lang boys passed away - thoughts to the family. Local Karaoke will never be the same.
