The next Eucharistic Celebration is December 19th at 5 pm.
The Advent events until Christmas are:
Advent Vespers are at St. Thomas on Friday, December 18th at 7 pm.
Confessions are at St. Thomas Saturday, December 19th from 4 to 4:45 pm.
Confessions are at St. Scholastica Monday, 21st and Tuesday the 22nd from 7 to 8 pm

After he heard Confessions, Father Clinton said Mass at St. Thomas last Saturday. He had traded places with Father Dave for the evening. Following mass, some enjoyed refreshments in the church basement, while Father Clinton gave a little talk and became familiar with some of St. Thomas’s finest.

Mary Ellen O’Connell Morris was home visiting her brothers and their families. “Auntie” as all the family calls her, is a positive and an exciting personality. It’s always good to see her.

Lorraine O'Connell attended the "Christmas Capades" put on by the New Prague Figure Skating Club on Sunday, the sixth of December. Lorraine’s great-granddaughter Nora Zvanovec skated to "Sleigh Ride". Nora is the daughter of Mike and Leah Zvanovec.

The Halloran girls are in the spirit! Emily Onken, Gwen Case, Janel Flynn, Ellen Halloran, Deb Halloran and many grandkids got together at the home of Bruce & Cathy Halloran to do our annual Christmas baking on Sunday, December 13th. They baked until they ran out of sugar and flour and every Christmas CD was played. A good time was had by all!

The St. Thomas family tree is branching out this season. Lorraine O'Connell became a great-grandmother for the 21st time on November 20th with the birth of Valentina Grace Delgado. Valentina is the daughter of Megan and Felipe Delgado of Mission Viejo, California and granddaughter of Linda O'Connell Kotek of New Prague. Lorraine became a great-grandmother again for the 22nd time on December 1st with the birth of Evan John Stasney. Evan is the son of Jack F. and Courtney Stasney of Duluth and grandson of Jack R. and Patty Stasney of New Prague.

Caleb Anthony was born to Jim, Marsha, Anna and Emily Sullivan on Monday, December 14th at 1:58 pm. Mom and babe are doing well. “Emily wanted a little girl, but Anna’s fine with anybody,” Dad chuckled. “Seven pounds, eleven ounces, 20 inches long... looks a lot like Dick Sullivan right now, there’s definitely a Sullivan resemblance. Emily and Anna came up with Grandma Pinney & Uncle Rich. Both were enamored with Caleb; they wanted to hold him immediately, although Anna did have a new tube of flashy chapstick, and she was a bit torn between the two...Caleb is doing great, doing all his 'firsts' ahead of schedule. Aunt Molly Sullivan Olson and Siri came to visit as well. For some reason, we are getting the Royal Treatment around here.” They must be at ISJ Hospital in Mankato, where Mom works is a baby nurse in maternity.

When ‘Silent Night’ is sung at Christmas mass, seek out and watch a sleeping baby in mother’s arms... brace yourself for the catch in your throat...it’ll come. This is what Christmas is all about. Peace and Joy, folks.

What nice and appropriate comments at this Christmas season. Your last paragraph speaks volumes. Merry Christmas to all.
