I think the two "young" guys with the pop can in Part 1 are Marv Engel and Steph Thomas, who is wearing one of the white windbreakers liberated from HHS track department. (Everyone had one.)

I had a St.Paul Dispatch newspaper route in town during 1970 and 1971, and one of my subscribers, a very old lady named Edna O'Connell, had water stains on her home's interior walls, and on some of her furniture, caused by the 1965 flood. You could look around the inside of her house and practically tell where the water level had been. She lived on N. 5th, on the corner of Locust St, I believe, or perhaps the corner just one block north or one block south of Locust. She gave me a dime tip every two weeks, which was good for 10 pieces of penny candy at Bender's Drug Store. Or sometimes I bought a 5-cent Cherry Coke and five pieces of candy.

That footage is fascinating! Thanks for posting it. I had relatives who moved into that big white house across from the Mobil station in the early 1970's: Pat & Maxine, and kids Ronnie, Terry & Missy. The last house I lived in (before moving away in Sept.1973) was just a couple doors south of Mr. Swenson's store. Looking out my front door, you would see the west side of the feed mill store. Does anyone know how high the water got at the feed mill? I couldn't spot the feed mill in the movie footage.

Saw our house in the footage on tape 2. We were given a picture of the house with water up to the front picture window. When we did remodeling recently, the water marks about half way up the wall on the main floor.
