Laurel just told me that for ten bucks you can get S.E.K.S. from both her and Lisa at the same time! Now that's what I call a special.

Okay I'm confused. I thought Bittersweet was in the gourmet coffee business with a mix of fine soups and sammiches. Is that just a cover up for what's really going on in there? No wonder Koester stops there every morning! Kooter save some SEKS for me!

Hi Tom Kolter, Tom Graham, Norton, Keith and all the other fine folks. Tom, who are those grubby looking guys in those pictures? That second one from the right looks kind of shady to me with that grin.

I and the rest of the SEKS group are so extremely pleased that we bring back some good memories and that the CD is giving a little memorable pleasure. We are having fun and some serious evening practices at only so far about a practice per month but I think by May and June we will be in good shape. In all, we will be playing all of the songs on the CD that Tom did such a great job of re-mastering, plus a few others. The Eagles slections are giving us the most problems because of the complex harmony required. It is totally unbelievable that the CD Tom revised was recorded on a cheap cassette tape many years ago, live at Fox Hollow. Again, so many thanks to Tom for all your time, investment, making this all happen, and for everyone else for appreciating and preserving our music.

I am attempting to talk the guys into making a fresh, high quality recording for the future since we are momentarily back together and I have all the professional recording equipment right in my basement. But first we have to polish up our songs so we can do justice to them in a quality manner. I just HATE to make mistakes on stage. Ouch!

Frank - thanks for checking in on the Henderson site! That guy does look kind of shady.

Just to clarify, the tape that I used to create the CD was marked as being recorded at the Henderson Legion. I also have a tape from Fox Hollow in Le Sueur, but there was more crowd and background noise on that recording than there was music. From the sound of the crowd, it was a great time!

I've been lucky enough to sit in and listen at the last two rehearsals and I can't wait to see them all up on stage again. It should be a blast!

CDs are still on sale at BitterSweet. So far there's been about 20 sold in less than 2 weeks. Maybe it will go Platinum?

Just wanted to note, also, that the guy on the far left in the group shot is Mike Riebel who will be playing keys (and maybe concertina?) for the reunion shows. The recording that's on the CD was before Mike's time with the band, but he was a vital member in the later years with SEKS and also the band Five Star which followed. I had a few beers with him one night after rehearsal and I heard many stories from the band days that my dad would never tell me! And I thought I knew how to have a good time!

If there's any chance of any of the background voices on the Fox Hollow tape are legible, PLEASE don't reproduce it. that isn't my voice you hear.
