Barricades and snow fence going up this morning, no notice to the public. Think of the thousands of bushels of grain and tons of aggregate hauled over this road during this bountiful harvest season. How long will it be closed? I can only imagine. Why does it have to close during harvest peak? Couldn't it wait a couple weeks? Should the Capx powerline construction be shut down if gravel can't be delivered to the Arlington Concrete Plant? Why wasn't notice given? While noxious weeds take over the rights of way, and hazardous, potentially life threatening conditions still exist in our immediate vicinity, why is this happening.
While we are on the subject, when will a maintenance worker(s) be assigned to Henderson?
Maybe someone, in their infinite wisdom, can answer these questions. What a great county government we have.

I had people stopping me on my route asking about what was going on and how long would it be closed. We have a local paper and a website. How difficult could it have been to post some type of brief notice last week notifying the public of the closure of this major road. Sibley County needs to do a much better job of communicating with their tax-payers.

Took a little tour on the ATV this afternoon and drove up through the construction zone. The road is narrowed to a little more than one lane just above Troy Mediger's driveway, but easily passable. Assignment of a flagman could keep the road open. Nobody seems to care about responding.

Thanks for the information Jeff. I guess if it was on the county websight why could they not have sent the information to the city papers or administrators so that it could have been put in the papers. Poor communication at best.

Jeff, you're so helpful. Have you ever considered some kind of public service or maybe running for office?

There's probably never a good time for construction but I agree fall time is the worst. I chose to drive the combine by the Carp Damn versus running to Blakely and back to the top of #12 hill. The fall colors were nice but one has to stay up on the wheel going that way. Hopefully those that take that route take 'er easy around the blind corners.

I do not know why they did not broadcast it on the news like in Ca. that is a busy road, and could have stayed open I am positive 700 cars a day may not drive it.Out hear when work on the bridges are done, work is on major holidays when most have off.
