A trip to Loretto for the Legends fell short last night as the home team tallied six runs in the 5th inning to pull out a 6-2 win. Jason Borchardt continues to hit the ball as he had two base hits. Scott Zeiher drove in John Hank with a base hit to right for the first run of the game. However, the blue couldn't come up with the big hit with guys on base. Another run in the top of the 7th on a Borchardt single closed out the scoring. Scott Zeiher took the mound loss and Scott Hank finished in relief.

Sunday night, July 8th the Legends (4-2) travel to St. Paul to take on the Seafoams at 6pm.

The perfect remedy for coming off a tough loss at Loretto? Venture to Concordia College in St. Paul on a Sunday night to take on the Seafoam Hawks. The LSH Legends blew out the Hawks 15-0 in 5 innings Sunday night as they moved their record to 5-2.

Jason Borchardt pitched superbly giving up but three hits in the shortened affair. Fifi also recorded two hits at the plate. Mark Shimota and Al Hentges each collected three hits to lead the Legends attack.

Hilltop Park in Henderson will be the site this Friday, July 13th as the home team squares off with the Prior Lake Pacers at 6:30pm. The heat wave has passed so come on out to the ballpark and enjoy some FREE baseball. Next Sunday, July 15th the Legends travel to Eden Prairie. First pitch is slated for 4pm.

It was high drama at Hilltop Park Friday night. Prior Lake found all the holes and pulled out to a 7-1 lead over the Legends only to see LSH whittle away in the late innings.

With two outs in the bottom of the 7th and LSH down 7-5, many were thinking BBQ Days. However, consecutive hits by Kent Thostensen, Mike Barron, and Troy Koester tied the score. Tony Nagel then hit a slow roller to short beating the throw at first which drove in Koester for the game winner. Legends win 8-7.

Mark Shimota hurled the first five innings then Scott Zeiher came on to pitch the last two. The win puts LSH at 6-2 on the season.

Today, the Legends travel to Eden Praire to take on Lion's Tap. Game time is 4pm.

A pitcher's duel broke out just off Hwy 212 in Eden Prairie today as the LSH Legends edged the Lion's Tap 2-0.

Jason "Fifi" Borchardt got the complete game shutout over EP, whose record now stands at 6-4. Fifi also collected a couple base knocks. Troy Koester and Mike Barron each collected key hits as well in the late innings giving LSH a much needed insurance run.

The 7-2 Legends are now off 'til next Sunday, July 22nd when they host the always tough Jordan Millers at Hilltop Park. Game is set for 2pm.

Who umps two American Legion baseball games then goes 3 for 3 with a 3-run homerun all on the same day? That would be Troy "Fivehead" Koester that's who. Yes it was definitely his day yesterday as the Legends won a close pitcher's duel with the Jordan Millers 3-1 at Hilltop Park. Scott Zeiher also collected two hits on the day, including a towering single off the left field fence.

Another fine defensive effort by LSH, including a stellar complete game by John Hank on the mound now gives the old guys an 8-2 record on the season. The loss drops the Millers to 8-4.

Next up for the Legends are road games this Friday night, July 27th at 7:30pm in Union Hill. Followed by a Sunday 4pm matinee against Braemar in Edina.
