The next scheduled mass at St. Thomas at Saturday, July 28th.
Nolan, Little Dorrie, and Camdon Halloran joined their grandparents, Jim and Mary Jean, at mass in St. Thomas. Margie Eischens made it from the cities
Dustin Gill picked up a state medal in the shot put and earned seventh place in the state championships recently. He tossed the shot 49 feet, 2.5 inches. Dustin rode in the Sauerkraut Days parade on Sunday. He’s just as shy as most of our Gills… a great kid.
Jerry and Chuck Retka were tailgating it, Little Henry Tuck, with his John Deere tractor and his dad, were among the folks who watched the 11th annual Sauerkraut Days Tractor Ride before it passed by the nice folks in St. Thomas on the way to lunch in Union Hill, then through Belle Plaine and to Henderson in time to join the kiddie parade on Saturday. Davie Connelly enjoyed being a participant in the Owl parade, Saturday evening.
Allie, Ashland and Kamry Simon, and Chuck and Marie were among the crowd as they enjoyed the parade in Henderson on Sunday… spotted the Modriefsky girls, Diane, Janet and Gladys. We all saw the lovely Miss Hannah, a reason our James spends so many late nights… early mornings in Montgomery. She is 2012 Montgomery royalty and passed through on a float in the parade.
Libby Johnson and Joe May received marriage blessings at the Methodist Church in Le Sueur and celebrated with family and friends at the Le Center American Legion on Saturday, June 23rd. Libby and Joe were married in Groton, Connecticut on September 23,2011, with a wedding party of two brothers and two sisters, Katie and Michael May, Katie and Gavin Johnson. The ushers were cousins, Ryan Burns and Nathan Olson. A highlight at the end of the service and a surprise guest, who scrambled up the isle to join Joe and Libby at the altar… Rambo, their pet English bulldog… dressed in a tux.
Barney and Jean Burns hosted a backyard barbeque wedding reception for Noah and Sara Burns Rassmussen, on Saturday, June 23. Sara and Noah were married at sunset in a ceremony on the Riviera Maya in Mexico, December 8, 2011. Two brothers and two sisters again made up the wedding party. This time, Stacy Fesser and Jenni Burns were maids of honor and best men were Matt and Luke Rassmussen. Games, guests, and flowers graced the landscape and tables. Later, mini-light wrapped tree trunks and Mason jar garden lights lit the yard at the Burns home as Tom Murphy and Jared Graff provided classic guitar tunes… Chuck and Marie were among the guests here, too. They’re everywhere.
A heads up for Tikalsky family members… Met with Mary Tikalsky Dwyer at the home of Chris and Patsy Traxler, Monday evening… Project: a Tikalsky family tree book. Eugene Pexa (May 13, 1924–June 25, 2011) left his collection of family tree information and Mary has a wealth of Tikalsky pictures and stories. We‘re off to a great start. That’s all for this week, folks. Have a good one.
