I like this Wellington guy they got, too. A real hitter. Just hope that they don't find out about the steriods he took. Although maybe he didn't realize they were steriods. Anyway, that's just what my sources are telling me. Sources also told me that Gardo says the boys are scufflin' a little bit right now but still showin' up and getting their work done and that they are really into it in the dugout and really battling right now, and that the pitchers are doing well except for a couple of mistakes. But that's the game of baseball. Prediction here ... the Twins will lose 54 and win 54, it's the other 54 that will determine their season. Also, it's their attitude, not their aptitude, that'll determine their altitude.

The name Cletus really grew in popularity in the late 70's and early 80's because of the line "warm smell of Cletus rising up through the air" in the popular Eagles song - Hotel California.

The umps screwed the Twins again last night. Tonight's ump behind the plate, Cuzzy, is the one that called Mauer's ball foul in the playoffs at the Yankees when it was fair by a mile. The umping crew are some big Yankee fans. I can see why Gardy got dejected.

Willy is on pace to hit what, 92 home runs?

All the bush league batters
Are left to die
on the diamond.
In the stands
the home crowd scatters
For the turnstiles.

Neil Young wrote that song about Ryan Donut.

Do you have the one that Scot Hipp wrote about the fish dying?

HA! I vaguely remember that! He was a modern day Jim Morrison.

The big Canuck comes through tonight and the Twins are set to take 3 of 4 from the Yankees. If Liriano, Perkins, Blackburn and Pavono start coming around, look out.

How the Twins have fallen from the ranks of credibility. Team absolutely stinks so bad that Yankee stadium empties when the Yankees are trailing 6-4 in the seventh inning. If the Twins were still our little engine that could, the place would've been packed full waiting for the Yankees to rally. But because the Twins are such a non-factor fans don't even stick around. Thought Yankee fans were like Packers fans, through thick and thin never ever ever bad mouth or abandon their team? Thought Mornozie and Mauerzie had enough Super Star Power to fill stadiums.

The Twins haven't won a series in New York since 2001.

Now that the other Sedin brother is back on the ice for the Cannucks the looked a lot different last night.

SOBs on the radio just said that Leslie Nielsen was just two pitches away last night, but that two-out three run homer in the second and two-out two run double in the third made it seven runs instead of just two. Just two pitches. Sooooooo tired of hearing when a starter gives up 6 or 8 runs that it's just a couple pitches. No crap. Could happen to anybody. Not every pitch a guy throws gets hit for a double, but one of eight does. Guy on radio said they are borderline playoff contenders. PLAYOFF contenders. Has he seen them play? Well, of course he has because he's an analyst, but he has clearly taken over Skeddy's role of "unrealistic optimism for my teams chances guy." They are 5-13, and probably should be 5-13.

Twins are actually 5-14. Tied with KC for last. But one out of four isn't bad right?

I'm glad that Larryono is getting skipped, the other starters have a much better chance of winning.

All it's going to take is for 3 or 4 of the starters to turn it around and the Twins will be in good shape. Wait and see.
