You got me in a box there, you. Even the announcer yesterday was making fun of the Gophers when Tollickson went sprawing to the floor for a loose ball and laid there hurt for awhile and when he came off the floor not a single guy on the bench was up giving him five and telling him "good hustle." The announcer says something like "That's why they don't win." Even when they made a basket to tie it late the bench just sat there, dreading like they might have to play again today.

I was pulling for the Wildcats. They've never been to the big dance and the Goofers are going nowhere.

Gophers get the big win tonight. With all the BIG 10 teams advancing in that other tourney it just shows how tough the BIG 10 is. Hopefully Tubby gets that extenstion before someone else swoops in and gets him. No one gave them a chance and look at them go. Wow.

The Gophers have a great core, but unfortunately we can never keep our good players here. If we dont have any early draft entries, or transfers.

Only Sampson will be entering the draft but he's a senior anyway with an extreme skill set. I'd say Turkey or Hungary take him in the 6th round somewhere.

Wow - the Gophers are making my bracket look real good. I'm thinking I'm the only one in the office who had them reaching the semi-finals. I'm thinking they will contend for the BIG 10 title next year with all this pressure packed experience. GO GOPHERS!

Never before has a team I root for won yet left me so frustrated and tense. I would think that a coach with Tubby Smith's resume would have a three-ring binder full of plays to inbound the ball against a press. I am not Johnny Xs and Os when it comes to basketball, but not once did they try to set a pick to get someone open. Just put three guys at half-court and let them run circles. The Gophers won in-spite of themselves. If the Gophers lead by 7 with four minutes left, hang on, because the shot selection and clock management are going to drive you nuts, in victory or defeat. These are Tubby's players, and either he doesn't not recruit Basketball IQ or he can't teach it.

I'm happy for them, though, but still, never has victory been so bitter. Maybe Ken Novak should be the next Gophers coach. He always gets the most out of his outmatched, undertalented teams at Hopkin High. The Royals are one of the most over-acheiving prep teams in the nation, year in and year out.

I agree that inbound play was probably the best coaching one will ever see. The Gophers can't inbound, look lost, take the last time out and meanwhile during the timeout 1.2 seconds gets back on the clock. Now they try to inbound again playing the look lost ploy and entice the defender to hit the ball. BAM! Technical - free throws and then possession. Game, set, match. Nothing like the old bait the technical inbound play.

My sources are telling me Tubby's phone is ringing and it's Tulsa calling. (Tubby coached there before thus the interest.) I really hope the U doesn't let him get away. Give Tubby the extension!

Wow - what a game! The refs did all they could to see to it Washington won but the Gophers win, again. Amazing run by the team. Tubby has them peaking at the right time. It really shows how tough the BIG 10 is when the 9th best team destroys the best team from the PAC 10. I really hope Tubby gets that extension because I can darn guarantee his phone is ringing. Not many coaches could hold a team together with so many injuries. Coach of the year material right there. Wow.

Young squad here. If Mbakwe comes back next year look out Big Ten. Only losing Sampson and that's addition by subtraction. Camel was even thinking about a Gopher football/basketball season ticket package he's so excited.
