Art Straub told me about this report. Others may be interested too so decided to post it here. Power lines and lead pellets are once again causing problems for birds... The large flock of Trumpeters at Monticello are being injured by both. We have trumpeters once in a while too but can you imagine the problems a high transmission power line over Bucks' Lake could have on the eagles who use the lake as their feeding ground? It would be a real mess. Think about the 100's of eagles who come to Bucks' Lake each spring, much less the dozens who use the open water (springs) through the winter.
