Listen to the Voice of Alison England
Many on Chatter are aware that Alison England, a renowned soprano/musical theater performer will be in Henderson on September 24, for a Brown Society Fundraiser - all part of the Joe Brown bronze statue unveiling.
You may not have ever heard her sing, however, and you can do that by going to Google, or Bing, or Yahoo, and entering:
www.alisonengland.com Then click on VIDEOS where you'll find a number of her vocal selections.
Ms. England's accompanist, Dr. Amy Wilson, is from Trinidad, Colorado, where England is also an interim professor of music at Trinidad College. Amy Wilson is an accomplished pianist in her own right. Actually, the Dr. part in this instance stands for dentist. She has performed with the Colorado Springs Orchestra and the Southern Colorado Chorale Society. She's also a private pilot but, no, she's arriving in Minnesota on a commercial flight.
A big night. And...there's still tickets available. The $40 ticket is all part of a fundraiser to complete the statue of Joe Brown that will be located on the grounds of the Community Square in a formal dedication to be held next year. On September 24, however, you'll get to see the finished bronze statue. He's one handsome dude in bronze!
Reserving your ticket is as easy as calling Lon Berberich at (507) 248-3234, then pick up your ticket when you arrive at the MN New Country School. Or, just stop by the City Offices if you're in town. Statue viewing starts at 5:30 p.m., where you can visit with sculptor Tom Page. Dinner is at 7:00 p.m. Alison England's show, "Songs I Love to Sing and Stories I love to Tell," is at 8:00 p.m.
We hope to see you there.
