I'm relatively new to Henderson but I know it's unusual to have to deal with the closed roads 3 times in just over a year.
That said, I think people have been very understanding even while expressing their frustrations.
Much of that frustration could be mitigated with more communication. I know the message Lon posted on behalf of Darin Mielke on the 6th helped us understand and he did so again on Monday. That's a good start but even the road closure maps from Sibley County aren't current.
That said, I think it's more than an inconvenience when the road closures are affecting business and gas prices are so high and the detours ineffectively marked for a prolonged period of time. This is compounded when it's not apparent to business owners and citizens that all options (e.g. single lane, "caution: water on roadway" signs) are being considered.
The decision process should be more transparent and a process in place to receive feedback from the public and I think people will, in turn, be more understanding.
Just my 2 cents.
