Sounds like I had the same call as Tom. The county is doing load tests on the pavement. Mr. Mielke seemed to have a lot of fear about people veering off the road into the water. My stance was if MNDOT can open 41 w/water still on the shoulders, Sibley County should be able to do the same. Still another day of waiting.
Went past the intersection just before 5pm (still closed)and there appeared to be a security vehicle parked nearby. I could be wrong though. Thought it said "Vanguard" on the side with a yellow strobe on top. Could've been some road survey vehicle too not sure. But if indeed Sibley County is using our tax dollars to have someone sit in a car and smoke cigarettes to sit and watch if anyone moves the barricade there'll be hellfire. Wished I had my camera with me I would've stopped and taken a photo of 'em.
