I'm told highway 93 will probably open on Friday. Crews will be working on cleanup and final inspections. Even if there is minimal water on shoulder or even in driving lanes, MNDOT feels it is imperative to re open as soon as possible.

Kinda like our Sibley County officials, huh?

Does anyone know when Hwy 19 will open? I can't imagine it would be too far behind Hwy 93?

I believe the water needs to get below 732 before they will open it, then they will need to perform the needed repairs on the shoulders on the north side of the road. Great news about 93 though!

The Rush River road is actually dangerous to drive. There has been many occasions where I though I was going to be run off the road, and hit by another car doing 60. The frost boils alone can flip your car.


You know my next question will be, "when will the boat landing be open"?

Looked at 19 Tuesday night and there was still about a 200ft stretch under water.

Talked to Fran Bigaouette from MNDOT and Henderson Emergency Management Director Tom Phillips earlier today and it sounds like Saturday for opening MNDOT Highway 93 and taking down the stop log closures.

Hip hip HOORAY!!! One almost down one to go. We won't count Cty Rd 6 because we all know it should be open.

MNDOT will monitor the water levels again tomorrow morning and may decide to finish repairs and open things then. If that is the case emergency management crews will begin taking down the Hwy 93 and 19 closures. Anyone available to help remove the closures can check in with Les Mediger at the fire hall to get an assignment.

To clarify-Highway 19 would NOT be open for traffic tomorrow or Saturday, only the stoplog closure would be removed. There is still well over 1.5 feet of water over the road at the deepest point
