Every year Skeddy posts the HS football bracket,except this year. The person formerly known as Roadking04 shoots me an e-mail wondering if there is a game tonight. He rambles on about the school district's website and how it isn't up to date, lower seat @ higher seat - blah, blah, blah. I tell him, try having a kid in high school and using the website to follow your student's progress, half the teachers don't update what they should. (OK - not half, but nobody uses that feature because it is never up to date.)

Anyhow, being the problem solver I am, I go to the Minn. HS League website for the information. That didn't help, that website is user-unfriendly.

So Skeddy, if you are out there, post the bracket please.

The Giants play Waseca at 7 pm tonight at Waseca.

Yes...opening round of section play is tonight. Second round on Saturday the 31st and finals Friday the 6th.

An intriguing side note. Hopkins (where I teach #2 seed) plays Minneapolis Southwest (#7 seed) in the opening round of the section 6AAAAA playoffs. Southwest lost to Washburn by two at the end of the season. Washburn (#3 seed) opens play @ home against Blue Earth (#5 seed) in the section 2AAA playoffs. Highland Park (#2 seed) beat Washburn in the city championship game and plays Jordan (#7 seed). I'll be very interested to see how the outstate schools do against the Minneapolis schools. I still can't believe that the majority of the Minneapolis City schools are in class AAA.

What's #8 Minneapolis Roosevelt H.S. like this year?

Not very good...the city conference has been on the decline. Roosevelt did beat Southwest (SW plays Hopkins tonight in Sect. 6AAAAA). Man is that messed up. It could get ugly early here at Hopkins.

The only comparable opponent for Roosevelt would be St. James and they look like they're terrible as they lost to St. Peter 44-18. LSH beat St. Peter 26-7. Belle Plaine beat LSH 14-12. Belle Plaine is going to roll Roosevelt.

Thank you Skeddy for the update! I am sad the season is over for our football Giants. I didn't make it to the game, but we should all show up for the red & white Tigers of Belle Plaine.

Saturday will be a busy day for parents that have youngsters that want to go trick or treating and older kids in the football playoffs.

Cleveland at Nicollet will have some Henderson story lines. I am thinking Jan Schultz's grandson plays for the Clippers and Junior Murph coaches DA Raiders. Murph might even have a kid old enough to play I'm thinking.

I'm looking for DA Raiders to make a deep run into the playoffs - Metrodome dome dome dome.......
