Saturday May 15, the fabulous Fendermen return to charlie Neisen's Bar in historic downtown Henderson. The Fendermen are a very popular 50's and classic country group who have been performing in the upper midwest since I was knee high to a grasshopper. Mule Skinner Blues was a big hit for them in the 60's. For a good time Saturday night, come to Charlie's on the 15th. Tell Charlie you read it on the internet, maybe you'll get a free beer out of him.

Mule Skinner Blues you say (a.k.a. Blue Yodel #8), if I have my history straight, that is an old Jimmie Rodgers tune. Jimmy Rodgers is known for his yodeling skills, which begs the question, if we attend the show can we expect some yodeling from the band?

Has it been compared to Biff Jackson's "Here we go a yodelin' in the Canyon"? Or am I thinking of something else?

They can do some real classics: Webb Pierce, Johnny Cash, Ray Price, to name a few. Also some good Dale Vinkemeier type 50's and 60's.
