This year the entire 1983 Henderson Tigers Girls Basketball Team will be featured as the Henderson Sauerkraut Days Grand Marshals.

Mark your calendars, Sunday June 29th, for the Grand Parade in Henderson!

How about an alumni "pep" band lead them down the route while playing the Notre Dame Victory March?

The Kraut committee is already on top of this. Our plan is to have the LSH band playing the Notre Dame Victory march during the parade. I think any HHS band alumni will be welcomed to join them.

The alumni pep band would have to wear orange turtlenecks and black courderoys.

I don't think that will encourage many alums to participate!

Maybe it should inspire a volunteer alumni band to lead the "83
Girls State Basketball championship team from HENDERSON. Black and Orange were our colors.

And maybe the cheerleaders of the past could dig out their uniforms and be part of the parade (no matter what year they were from)

Orange and black??? OF COURSE!!! Maybe a cool tee from the Henderson General Store would be more appropriate. (I have my retro Henderson phy ed shirt on right now!)

Cords and turtlenecks? In June? When it was hotter than heck last year? Let's let that fashion mistake rest in the past.
(Unless, someone has actually saved their cords and turtlenecks from the 80's and wants to wear them. Go right ahead!)

By the way, great choice on this year's grand marshals selection!

I could maybe track down a pair of orange "coaches" style shorts.

you remember the uniform. The visual I got from picturing orange coach shorts will haunt me for days.

I recall the official uniform you speak of as well orange turtle neck (to hide a hickey?) and the black cords. And by the way...the orange coaches shorts still haunt me today.

But if you recall...by 1983 the Official Henderson High Pep Band Uniform had evolved to a short sleeve blue and white baseball shirt...and keep in mind that Mr. Baird had us accessorizing with those goofy blue and white beret looking hats.

I'll never understand why were wore blue and white. Was Mr. Baird color blind?
