About the Author

Val Cunningham writes about nature, especially birds, from her home in St. Paul, Minn. She has been published in local, state and national newspapers and magazines, writes a column for the weekly Birding page in the Minneapolis StarTribune and is the author of "The Gardener’s Hummingbird Book." She’s out bird watching on a daily basis and enjoys traveling to birding hotspots in the United States, Central America and other areas. Val takes particular pleasure in sharing with others her fascination with birds and birding. She and her husband maintain a backyard habitat for urban wildlife.
