Carrol Henderson is supervisor of the Minnesota Department of Natural Resource's Nongame Wildlife Program.

The Workshop

Author, photographer, and wildlife biologist Carrol Henderson will be giving a presentation about "Landscaping for Birds." He will be sharing information from his book Landscaping for Wildlife and also including new information specifically on what flowers to use for attracting songbirds and hummingbirds to your yard. Henderson has been the Nongame Wildlife Program supervisor for the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources' Nongame Wildlife Program since its inception in 1977. He had his wife Ethelle have landscaped their yard in Blaine for wildlife since moving there in 1977, so many of his recommendations are from personal experience in his own backyard.

Carrol Henderson is an author, photographer and wildlife manager. Since 1997 he has supervised the Minnesota Department of Natural Resource's Nongame Wildlife Program. During the past 19 years he has developed a statewide program for the conservation of Minnesota's nongame wildlife species and has had responsibility for planning and developing projects to help bring back bluebirds, bald eagles, peregrine falcons, trumpeter swans and river otters.

Henderson's is a well known author of over ten books and whose writings include "Landscaping for Wildlife" and "Woodworking for Wildlife". In addition to these, we highly recommend his more recent book, "Wild About Birds", to anyone interested in feeding birds.
